Noel was eager to get home after a long day of work. In fact, all of her days have been pleasant since her new roommate moved in six months ago. She took a job as a junior analyst at a prestigious finance company in the city. Once her income became a great start for her future, she wanted her living arrangement to reflect her new career. She found a spectacular luxury apartment in a highly favored area, which was the perfect distance to and from her job.
Though with the rise of her income, her budget remained frugal in order to afford the place. Not that it would be an immense problem, but she wanted to enjoy her rising success without breaking the bank. She secured the place and began looking for roommates. Not just any roommate, she was looking for someone whose income met the standard of her own or higher and has all the musts: clean, know their way around the kitchen and social skills are mandatory.
Preferably male, since she's had her share of female co-occupants and her rule to not get involved with her roommate was one she didn't plan to break. She had someone to keep her from stepping that boundary. But her interviews failed. No one had any of the qualifications she'd set. Some were too snobby or didn't make quite enough.
On the brink of giving up, she solicited help from her good friend Namjoon, who suggested his cousin-an architect who recently secured a fantastic job in the city. He was looking for a place to stay. Namjoon intrigued Noel with his suggestion and prayed for the other three factors to fall somewhere in line as well.
They did, and he was the perfect fit for her! He is an amazing cook, immaculate and clean. Noel and her roommate have a blast together and even hung out with each other's friends. He became her best friend.
His lifestyle was a plus, and she didn't worry about breaking her rule. Besides, she was more in love with his boyfriend than he was, teasingly, of course. Their living arrangement was perfect, and Noel couldn't be happier.
Smiling as she opened her apartment door, the aroma of a hot meal made her melt upon entering. "Gosh Tae Tae! What is that?" She asked as she took her shoes off and placed her bag on the sofa. Taehyung smiled as she approached him and peered over to see. "It smells so good! I'm hungry right now!" Noel teased.
"Wait, Elle. Dinner is almost ready." He said, after giving a sweet kiss on her cheek.
"Almost can't get here fast enough. How was your day hun?"
Taehyung shrugged. "It was fine. Work is work as always."
Noel narrowed her gaze. "What's wrong, honey? Is something bothering you?"
Taehyung's heart skipped as the burden of his day weighed heavily on him, but he didn't want to bother her with them. Noel placed her hand on his back and rubbed small circles on it. "Did you and Jungkook have a fight?" Taehyung remained quiet at the mention of his other half. "Hey. Look at me." Noel spoke to him.
Taehyung turned to her with weak, glistening eyes. Noel noticed glints of hurt in them.
"Couples fight, okay? It doesn't matter how happy they are, they always disagree with something. Even you and I fight and you are the best house-husband I could ever have." She smiled, hoping to lighten the mood.
Taehyung chuckled at Noel. "Thank you, sweetheart." He gazed into her kind eyes, feeling grateful to have someone like her in his life.
Noel kissed him as she moved away from the kitchen. "I'm going to change into something more comfortable and I'll be waiting for our dinner and movie."
"You better wear something nice. We don't do comfort without style in this house!" Taehyung yelled after her.
