30| Promise

Noel lifted her brow and grinned. "Acceptance? What am I accepting?"

Taehyung took the hand, still interlocked with his, and brought it up to his lips, brushing it with kisses as his gaze commanded hers. "A few things." Taehyung answered as he released her fingers and brought her hand up to him, placing it flat against his forehead.

Noel smiled at this gesture, unsure to what he was doing. "Tae Tae..." she began.

"Shh. Let me do this." He quieted her. She nodded okay as she waited.

Taehyung took a deep breath and gulped. "First, accept my instability. I'm sure I've been hard to understand lately. My breakup with Jungkook had me in a whirlwind and I know it's influenced our friendship. You are my best friend Elle. You have been there for me and I will need you always. I want to be better for our friendship and this is my promise to. Will you accept?"

Noel's eyes softened at hearing Taehyung speak about his feelings. "Yes. I accept."

Taehyung smiled as he moved her hand down to his face, allowing her small thumb to caress his lip. "Second, accept my apology. I'm so sorry Elle. While you were there for me, I took advantage of you and hid from my pain with sex. That was unfair to you and you should be angry at me for doing this, but you're not and you never have been. I don't deserve you and if you were to walk out of my life for the way I treated you, I wouldn't stop you. I only pray you would find it in your heart to forgive me and come back to me. Elle, I promise to open up more and talk to you because really, you're the only one who understands me. Will you accept?"

Noel's eyes brimmed with tears. "Oh Tae, Y-Yes. I accept."

Taehyung's eyes grew heavy as he lowered Noel's hand down to his heart, pounding rapidly against his chest. "Last, accept my heart. I know I said we were still the same after the first night we spent together, but something happened the more I spent time with you. I may have been hiding from my pain, but I couldn't escape my feelings regarding you. There is something special about you and I realized this the moment I met you. Whatever it was grew more and more by the day. I've never felt this with anyone, man nor woman, and whatever it is, I want more of it. I promise I will be good to you if you would allow me a chance. Only if you want more of it, too. Will you accept me?"

A tear fell from Noel's eyes as his words swirled through her thoughts. Feelings of confirmation overwhelmed her as every wonder she's had on his feelings finally surfaced in words. Taehyung stood, waiting patiently for an answer while a tear fell down his face in fearing the rejection that circled his mind.

Noel released a low breath as she tried to fight the emotion that clogged her from speaking. She tilted her head slightly as a small smile hugged her lips. "Taehyung, are you saying you want us to try a relationship?" She asked.

His eyes wandered hers hoping his answer to her wouldn't leave him in limbo. "Y-Yes."

Noel's smile grew wider. She took his other hand and placed it on her heart. "I will accept only if you accept mine."

"Yes, sweetheart. Yes, I accept." A sigh of relief eluded him. Taehyung released his hands to hold her face between them and kissed her softly, sealing his promises.
