"Jimin!" Taehyung greeted before moving in for a long awaited embrace from his dear friend.
"It's been quite awhile, hasn't it?" Jimin teased as he motioned for Taehyung to take a seat. Jimin immediately grabbed the wine menu and began the browse the selection.
Taehyung glanced around, impressed with the atmosphere. "Nice choice."
"Only the best for my best." Jimin smiled as he closed the menu and motioned for the server who already had her eyes in his direction. He smiled kindly at her before speaking. "Your best red, please." She bowed respectfully and hurried away from the table.
"You know best translates to most expensive?" Taehyung lifted his brow to Jimin.
Jimin blushed. "So, how have you been? How's the new job?"
Taehyung sipped his glass of water. "I'm good. The job is going great. It was a wonderful decision to take it."
"How are things with Noel? Is she still the perfect roommate?" Jimin inquired.
A quick breath caressed in a grin escaped Taehyung at the mention of her name. "Perfect in every sense of the word." He placed his glass down as he caught Jimin's curious gaze.
"In every sense of the word? Interesting." Jimin rubbed his index finger under his chin.
The server returned and served the gentleman their beverage. "What will you be having for dinner, sir?" She asked.
A soft smile curved Jimin's lips as he held his gaze to the server. "Please inform the chef that Park Jimin is here. He will take care of the rest." He answered. She blushed at his suave manner before exiting their presence.
"How is that interesting?" Taehyung asked.
Jimin narrowed his stare to Taehyung as if he was reading him. "Is there something going on with you and Noel?" Taehyung picked up his wine and took a sip without uttering a word. "You're kidding?" Jimin's brow quirked curiously.
Taehyung rolled his eyes over to him. "I said nothing." He grinned.
"Have your preferences changed or does this have anything to do with your recent break up with Jungkook?" Jimin inquired.
"I'm not sure Jimin. It's not like I'm attracted to all women. It's just her." Taehyung explained.
"Of course you're attracted to her. Your boyfriend broke up with you and you're finding comfort in her Taehyung because you love her. I guess it's fine as you aren't sleeping with her." Jimin assessed. Taehyung cleared his throat as he nervously grabbed the back of his neck. Jimin's eyes widened. "You didn't, did you?" He spoke low.
"I-"
"Okay, she's your roommate Tae. Are you in love with her?" Jimin inquired.
Taehyung sighed. "I do love her Jiminie. I 'm not sure if I do the way you are thinking, but I care for Noel a lot."
"This is serious Tae. You've now switched tracks and you're living with her. I don't want to see either of you hurt."
"I will not hurt her, Jimin. It's not like we're dating. We slept together. Nothing has changed with us."
"Yeah, nothing until she tells you she loves you in a way that's more than friends. Do you want to be with her? What about Jungkook?" Jimin wondered.
Taehyung huffed. "Jungkook is dead to me. He lied, cheated, and said he didn't love me anymore. Am I supposed to wait for someone like that?"
"H-How do you know he cheated? Did he tell you?" Jimin asked as he took a sip of his drink.
"It's what he didn't say." Taehyung mumbled.
"Taehyung, if you aren't interested in pursuing a relationship with Noel, end this. Don't use her for a rebound, please. Don't take this as a lecture. I only want the best for you."
"I'm not using her, and I have genuine feelings for her. It's hard to explain, but she's there for me. She's always there for me and I just need her right now."
Jimin sighed. "Just don't confuse gratitude for love, okay?"
