The Nate Complication

This is how I imagined Eric and Nell getting together if it had happened in the second season.

Nate walks into OPS grinning, glad to be back.

"Well hello everyone" he said. Kensi ran up and hugged him.

" Be careful now " he said addressing Kensi, "Deeks will get jealous". At that moment Nell walked in carrying an unopened case report.

"Nate" she stated blankly. This was not her style.

" Come here you little red pixie" Nate said pulling Nell into a bear hug, lifting her off the ground. Eric's face was bitter and red with anger. Just as Nate put Nell down he stormed out of OPS.

Deeks headed for the door "I'll go talk to him". Nell stopped him in his tracks " No, I'll go".

Nell followed Eric all the way to the back of the building. When she got there he was sitting on the floor his glasses off his head in his hands. Not knowing Nell was there he started talking to himself quietly. "Man up Beale, just tell her how you feel, but what if she doesn't feel the same way and it ruins our friendship" Nell coughed thinking this was a good time to cut in.

"Nell how uh long have you um been uh standing there" he asked nervously.

"Long enough to hear what you said, what do you want to tell me"

" I um well" Eric started. But couldn't finish as he went very green running round the corner being violently sick. Nell just froze.

Eric came back a minute later.

"I'm sorry, I do that when I am nervous or around people, I like" he explained flushing scarlet.

Nell was taken aback. " Wait you like me, I mean like me like me".

"Yeah you have the most beautiful face and soft hazel eyes, you are so kind and strong and brave even when times get tough and you are consistently happy all the time not matter what the situation" he ranted. Nell just watched him all her dreams had come true. She leaned up and kissed him delicately.

" Don't worry about our friendship, I like you too".
