Chapter 3 • The Weekend Starts! [ 2 ]

2 weeks has passed, and nothing much has happened.

I designed various designs for my next collection. Most looks were inspired from my day at the park last time. And I was excited and ecstatic to show it to my mom, who's a designer and an editor of a magazine.

Putting all of that aside, my brother finally has a girlfriend. Leaving me alone on the family, the only person who's single. I was very annoyed by all the couples in the house, and watched all of my favourite cartoon and movies by myself with a bowl of Ice cream.

*door knock*

"Hey Ames. Can I come in?" My dad asked.

"Yup."

My door creaked and in showed my dad, scratching the back of his head with a cheesy smile. "Okay, so you know that me and your mom's anniversary coming up. Right?" Dad asked with a small smile. "Yup. What about it?"

"Well, I was wondering if you would like to help me choose a gift for her. Since you two are girls. And I don't know what to give her." Dad said, embarrassed. "What. Ever since you two dated and got married, you still don't know what to give her?" I asked. Confused. Like super confused.

"Well, I did gave her gifts. But I want this anniversary to be special, so that's why I approached you." He said. Ohhh.. nice one dad. "Well, putting all of the romance romance stuff aside. Giving her a gift that's from your heart is enough dad." I smiled. "Aww. That's nice, sweetheart. But I want the gift to be useful, so she can use it everyday or maybe just for her free time." Dad said.

"Hhmmm...."

"Why not buy her a sewing machine?" I said, excited. "Oh, why?" Dad asked. He seems confused. "Well, mom did want to start learning how to sew. And she is practising by hand everyday, how about giving her a sewing machine to help her start?" I excitedly said.

"That's a great idea sweetheart! Thanks for the advice!" Dad said, before he ran outside of my room. Heh. Mom and Dad are still like teenagers, falling in love and all that jazz. Oh how I wish I could find someone, the right one perhaps. Well not today of course, but someday when I finally learn to love myself.

I will find him.

[ Rose House - 9:10 am ]

The talk about my parents anniversary helped me wonder, what would I be when I grow up? I mean, Mom is a designer and an editor of a magazine. Dad is a doctor and a scientist. My brother wishes to be a businessman when he grows up. And all I have is drawing, designing clothes, and eating.

Eh. Maybe another time, I'll talk about it with Sonic. For now, I'll walk around the mall and maybe buy something. Of course, with my brother.

"So Ames, what exactly, are you gonna buy?" Pete asked, confused. "I don't know, I just wanted to get out of the house today. I'll find something." I said. "Wanna find something to eat?" Pete asked, gesturing to one of the booths set up outside the mall. As we got outside, I spotted a booth that is quite different from the others.

"Maharlika?" I said, pointing the blue, red and yellow themed booth. "Oh that, that's a new booth. I heard they sell yummy sweets and sizzling food there." Pete said, leading me to the booth. Once we are in front of it, our eyes lit up of how everything looks so good. Purple cakes with white icing, small cakes and cupcakes. The smell of pork and chicken surrounding the booth captivated us to actually want some of the food.

"I'll have that ado... dob... adob..o?" My brother asked. Seems like the owner understood what he wanted and chuckled at how my brother pronounced it. "And I want some of that U..be.. ube roll cake please?" I asked, pointing to the yummy purple cake with white icing.

After we got everything we wanted and paid, we sat down on one of the tables in the centre of the booths. "Can you believe it?! We only wasted $10 for all of that!" My brother said. "It's cheap, but tasty! I like this cake." I sighed, enjoying the cake. Before I was about to take another bite, I recognised a familiar figure on one of the booths.

.... Josh?!

"Oh no." I muttered.

"Why? What is it?" Pete asked.

"He's here!" I cried. My heart was really beating loudly.

"Who??" Pete was so confused and looked around, and saw Josh.

"Oh. Josh. Don't worry, he can't see you." Pete chuckled.

"He won't! But he will!" I said, hiding behind the large bag of clothes Pete bought.

"Oh, calm down Amie. He's a really chill guy, he doesn't even know that you like him." He laughed with a smirk.

"Ugh. Your the worst." Rolling my eyes.

"Roll your eyes until you roll into a grave." Pete said, eating his adobo.

"Hey, Amy and Pete!" Josh greeted, waving at us.

"Oh hey Josh!" Pete said. He looked at me with a smirk.

"Uhh.. hey josh! Hehehe." I nervously said.

"Hey Josh, who are these people?" A girl behind him asked. She was about my age, very pretty and has a great bod.

"Oh right! Amy and Pete, this is Angelica. Angelica, this is Amy and Pete." Josh said flashing a smile.

My ears drooped a little. Seeing him with another girl is kind of nerve wrecking. He's dating someone?? How come I never knew about it?

"If you don't mind me asking, is she your date?" Pete asked Josh with a smile.

"Oh, yeah! We met at the park last time, I saw her after our game." Josh said with a warm smile.

I felt my heart broke a little. I mean, I'm not even his girlfriend. But why do I feel the nerve to say something?

"Oh.. I'm just gonna go to the bathroom." I said with a fake smile. Pointing to the right. "The bathrooms are over there." Angelica pointed to the left.

"Oh right. Thanks." I said. Before leaving the table.

No. I won't cry. I mean, they're just dating. They aren't a thing yet. And he's just my crush. I won't mean anything to him.

I was too busy running.. i don't know what direction am I running anymore. But all I know is that I'm running away from that situation. I don't care where I will go. Just take me far away from Josh.

Before I knew it, I bumped into another person. "I'm sorry! Excuse me!" I said, pushing myself away from that person.

"Amy??" A familiar voice called.
