I heard a crash off in the distance and then a Screem. I stood there debating whether or not to check it out before my curiosity got the better of me.
I walked on the direction I heard the sound.
I heard another scream and started to run.
Suddenly I heard someone shouting "help!" and they sounded an awful lot like Maddie. I was panicking by now. This isn't happening! I can't lose her.
After 5 minutes of searching I finally found her. It was Maddie, and she had been beaten up badly. If she was human then these injuries would have killed her.
"Maddie!" I shouted through tears.
"Found you!" she told me before passing out. I rushed over to her and picked her up.
Where could I go? I can't go home as she isn't safe there and I can't take her home as her parents would kill me.
So where could I go? I picked her up and started to run. I'd figure it out on the way.
After roughly half an hour of running I stumble across a small abandoned but in the middle of the forest.
I put Maddie down and go look inside. It looks stable! There's even a bed and food inside.
I go back and collect Maddie. Most of her wounds have healed up by now but there's a really bad one in her stomach that will take a while.
After carrying her inside and putting her on the bed I go boil some water. Once it's boiled I bring it into the bedroom along with a cloth and start to clean her starting with her face.
I felt so bad. She was probably out there searching for me. This was all my fault!
Just then I heard her groan.
"Hey!" I whisper in her ear.
"Hi" she says still half asleep. "My side hurts! A LOT!" She screamed the last part. My heart broke. I hated seeing her so helpless. I was used to a Maddie who could do anything. This Maddie was so weak she couldn't even sit up by herself.
"How you feeling?" I ask her.
"Terrible" she tells me.
"Do you want anything?" I ask. " you must be hungry?! "
"a little." she says.
"I'll be back in a minute." I tell her.
I walk into the kitchen where I find a slightly stale loaf of bread and half a jar of raspberry jam. I take out the bread and turn on the cooker and take out a pan.
After leaving the bread there for 2 minutes I take it off and start applying lots of jam. I take it back to the room where she is waiting.
"I'm a vampire! Remember?" she says seeing the plate of 'toast' in my hand. "I only drink and eat blood! I can eat that but it won't make any difference and I can't taste it. You should eat it"
"I'll go hunt." I reply.
"eat first" she commands me.
"yes your Highness!" I say adding extra emphasis to the end before talking a bite. It was good.
I quickly defour the rest before turning to leave.
"leave the plate!" she shouts after me.
I place it down on the unit beside the door before running out and changing into my wolf form. I'd need all my senses if I was to make sure I didn't get lost!
