I don't know where she's taking me but I don't care.
I trust her completely.
However I am a bit nervous. She sounded scared!
I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. It's not as though there's going to be a hatchling or anything. Worse case scenario there's a wild animal attacking someone. Nothing to worry about!
We entered a small clearing and I see it. Now I understand why she didn't want me to come.
There he is.
Hatchlings are extremely rare and extremely dangerous!
Not a lot of humans have the right kind of blood to become a vampire.
Most vampires are born now.
However there is nothing that a hatchling likes drinking more than werewolf blood.
Werewolves were close to extinction once. That's why vampires stopped creating them. Because even though we hate each other they didn't want to see one of the 3 original species die.
That's what we are, humans, vampires and werewolves. Everything else came after that.
Or at least that's the story I was told.
I think that vampires get told something different.
What has Maddie done?
"I felt sorry for him and he had the right kind of blood! I tried to warn you!" she explains. "I'm really sorry! Xander! Xander!" she shouts as I turn to start running.
I should have known! I should have seen the signs.
She was so worried. Of course it was a hatchling. Why else would she be so worried?
"stop!" I hear her shout. "I thought you said you would never attack your own kind!"
"they're not my kind anymore!" I can hear them say. "and neither are you! Hanging out with werewolves!"
Then I hear a scream. MADDIE!
I turn around and run back.
