(ignore my beautiful boy Pietro in the pic)

A new meeting of Dumbledore's army had begun and it was the last before the Christmas holiday break.
Worries of Filch were less since the last time Vera alongside Fred and George prepared chocolates for the man. Now every time she saw the man with a face full of pimples the girl softly giggled while the twins gave her knowing smiles or nudged her to be silence.

Everyone practiced hard and some even asked to battle against Vera.
She held back so she wouldn't  seriously hurt them but it was fun anyways.
Some students were practicing the Patronus charm while others were levitated into the air. A lot was going on and Vera loved every second of it.
Vera tugged on Nigel's arm with her magic and the boy fell down.
"Focus, Nigel. Try to find a weak spot and attack."
She was about to blast a ball of energy towards him but he was faster and stunned her.
She smiled at the boy and praised him.
"You're doing great!"
She looked at the soft scratch on his wound from when he fell from the air when Cho was supposed to levitate him.
"Just don't let Cho use a spell on you when Harry's near."
She winked at the boy before walking around the room again.
She joined Harry's side and smiled proudly at him.
"Working hard is important. But there is something that matters even more, believing in yourself."
Every word Harry spoke gave each student more motivation and Dumbledore's army grew stronger by the moment.

"Think of it this way. Every great wizard in history started out as nothing more than what we are no. Students. If they can do it, why not us?"
Vera spotted Neville and started her way to him.
He was once again practicing the Expelliarmus charm. They practiced a few more times at the side of the lake but nothing came of it.
She stood behind him waiting for him to cast the spell.
She believed in him but he didn't and that stopped him from succeeding.
"Expelliarmus!"
Vera's mouth fell open in shock and the whole room stopped to see what happened.
He did it! Neville succeeded to perform the spell.
Neville turned to her with a smile and she grinned back.
She jumped up and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"You finally did it! See I told you, you could do it."

Soon a small group formed around the boy to praise him and he again had a feeling that he did something right. Finally he felt some confidence and as if he wasn't a complete, hopeless mess. He even got a hug from Vera! He smiled not knowing with all the sudden praise.

***

Vera jumped down the stairs from the girl's dormitory to the common room.
Rex ran behind her making every step down the stairs a dramatic jump.
He let out a sound that sounded like a laugh.
"Sorry, I'm late to this meeting."
She sat down next to Hermione on the couch while greeting Ron and Harry.
"So Hermione informed me that you shared a kiss with Cho Chang."
Harry sat infront of the trio with his arms resting on his knees.
"So what was it like, mate?"
Vera couldn't deny to be curious of Ron's question and she leaned forward to listen better to Harry while her head rested in her hands.

"Wet, I mean she was sort of crying."
Vera frowned. Even she knew that isn't supposed to happen.
"That bad at it, are you?"
The girl snorted at Ron's question and leaned against the armrest.
"I'm sure Harry's kissing was more than satisfactory."
Ron had to stiflle a laugh while Harry nodded a thanks at Hermione.
"Cho spends half her time crying these days."

"Think a bit of snogging would cheer her up."
Vera threw a pillow at Ron who caught it just in time.
"Don't you understand how she must be feeling?"
He shook his head while still holding onto the pillow.
Hermione started to ramble about all the different emotions Cho must be feeling. Even Vera got confused at all the different emotions the girl must be feeling.
Was being in love really going to be that complicated? If so, Vera wondered if she would even go through all that trouble of finding someone to love. Were all these different and rather distracting emotions worth it?

"One person can feel all that? I'd explode."
The girl nodded in agreement with the redhead.
"Thats because you have the emotional range of a teaspoon."
Vera pursed her lips trying to surpress a laugh just like the boys but Hermione was the first to give in and laugh. Soon everyone else joined in and Vera felt at home with her friends.
