I wander from room to room, fascinated by the period detail and space, the house was beautiful, it reminded me of Grandpa Duncans house, and felt warm and welcoming. I had found the library and was entranced with the brass Victorian ladder system, it was the most complex I had ever seen. Losing track of time, I jumped when Alex called my name from the doorway.
"Geneva, we thought you had got lost" he grins at me and I turn to face him.
"Its beautiful" I murmur and he smiles at me, I catch my breath at the sight. "You should smile more Alex, it suits you" I tell him softly and see his eyes flash in reaction to my words, but the smile remains.
He holds out his hand to me "Come on, coffee and Henry are waiting in the kitchen"
I don't hesitate to take his hand and feel a rush of desire as his long fingers curl around mine and he leads me towards his brother.
"You found her!" Henry grins at us both when we get to the kitchen.
Alex laughs and the sound makes me smile. "She was in the library, I think if I had not gone looking she would be in there all night"
I giggle as I blush "I can't help it, your home is lovely and the detailing is exquisite, and the ladders in the library are incredible" I tell them defending my interest.
Henry pours me a coffee and slides it across the table as I sit down, Alex taking the seat next to me. The silence as we drink, is not uncomfortable and I can't help but relax, letting out a huge yawn, I realise just how tired I am. I blush, embarrassed as I see them both watching me with soft smiles.
"Come on, I can see you are tired, let me show you to your room, before you fall asleep at the table, Henry will bring you something to wear" Alex grins and I find myself grinning back.
"What no seduction routine?" I question, feeling both relieved and frustrated.
"Not tonight darling, we promised" Henry reminds me and clears up our cups.
Alex guides me through the house to the stairs, I run my fingers up the carved handrail, feeling the centuries of wear in the silken feel of the wood. "This way" he says leading me along a corridor, a hand at my elbow to help guide me as my eyes take in all the detailing around me.
"Your room" he whispers opening up a set of double doors and my jaw drops.
"Wow" I mutter like a school girl, spinning around to take in the cream and gold room.
"The room was decorated in this colour scheme for the visit in 1711 by Queen Anne and although its been used by subsequent monarchs, the colour scheme has remained, though updated over time" Alex tells me, watching me move around the room, my hand trailing over the ornately carved furniture till I reach the huge oak four poster bed.
"The bed isn't original" I say, smiling at the size of it.
"Yes and No, it was too small in its original form, so it was taken apart in the mid 19th century and the bearers extended to fit the more modern trends of the time and is similar now to a kingsize, the door to the right there is the bathroom, it's also been modernised, and you will find everything you need in there" he explains.
I turn to face him, concerned at using such a historic room but he anticipates what I am going to say. "No, this room is for you, I am not putting you anywhere else, the room has a history, but that doesn't mean we cannot use it" he growls lightly as Henry joins him at the door.
He steps past Alex and hands me a shirt and a robe "Something for you to sleep in" he offers and I take them blushing again, I can see its his t shirt and from the faint scent on the robe, it's also his.
"Thank you" I whisper, and suddenly the tension is there, and there is so much heat in the room. I fidget unsure of what to say but Alex knows.
"Sleep well, Geneva, if you need us, our rooms are just opposite, we will see you at breakfast" he puts his hand on Henrys shoulder and they both turn away.
"Wait!" I call nervously, taking the few steps to face them, reaching up to kiss first Alex then Henry softly before stepping back. "Goodnight" I whisper and the tension releases as they both grin and leave, pulling the doors shut behind them.
I wrap my arms around myself, suddenly nervous , what did I just do? my head falls forward and I catch the scent of Henry from his robe, lifting it higher so I can sniff at the fabric. I laugh at myself, realising how much I like the two of them, but what did I want to do about it. The twins were right, they were nothing like my old friends or Robert, I would have no worries that they were just interested in titles or money, they had more than enough of their own. No, they just wanted me and I was finally ready to embrace that, they could have pushed tonight and I would have caved in their arms to their demands very easily, but they had held firm to their promise to me, even as the heat between us all had risen.
I sighed and headed for the bathroom, marvelling again at the modern touches highlighting the period features in the room, using the distraction to keep me from tracking them down.
The rest of the night was spent tossing and turning, half tempted to get up and cross the hall to them, awake I could feel the draw to them asleep they invaded my dreams, the memory of their hands on my body, making my core ache and bringing the dream sensations into the reality of morning. My first thought was of them, followed by nervous panic, the dream images repeating themselves in my mind and I felt my need was written all over my face.
Knock knock.
"Come in" I called, pulling the covers up to my neck and watching as Henry opened the door and came in with a mug in one hand and clothes over his arm.
"I brought you coffee and something to wear, Alex is making breakfast, did you sleep well?" he asks, setting the mug on the bedside table and laying the clothes on the bottom of the bed before looking down at me.
"Thank you, and yes" I whisper watching him.
"Come down when you are ready, then we can talk" he grins before leaving the room, shutting the door behind me as I groan against the pillows, my nerves rising at his words.
What did they want to talk about and what would I say?
