31. Alexander

My heart races a little as we turn into the driveway and pass the gatehouse.  Kingswood Park, just visible through the trees as we approach Gen's childhood home. It's all because of the woman at my side, my heart, I want everything to be perfect for her.

Her hand comes to clasp mine and I feel the tension ease a little and we share a small smile, as I pull up next to the large number of cars parked at the front of the house.  Gen groans and I look at her questioningly.

"Everyone's here" she whispers and I grin, leaning over to kiss her lips softly to distract her.

"It will be fine, I promise" I tell her and she nods, jumping slightly as Henry opens her door and helps her out, his arm linking through hers in both support and guidance.

I come round to join them, watching the expressions chase across her face, before she straightens her back and smiles at us. "Lets do th..." a low whistle from the side of the building makes Gen spin round and we see a waving hand.
"Paris?" Gen calls out quietly and I see a grinning face peer round the bushes at us.

"Quick, come this way" she calls and with a giggle Geneva leads us towards her sister.  Henry releasing her just in time, for Paris to pull Gen into a hug, before Paris raises her hand to look at the ring.

"Congratulations, i'm so pleased for you all" she beams at us and I watch as Gen relaxes and grins back before introducing us.

"Alex and Henry Sutton Hamilton, my sister Paris" Geneva giggles wrapping her arms through ours as Paris watches us with interest, before nodding to herself.  I took that to mean we had passed, whatever test she had in her mind for us, I was just happy that Geneva was relaxing.

"What are we doing?" Gen asks her and Paris laughs.
"Everyone is camped out in the main salon waiting to find out what's going on, Hunter and Max are stirring the pot and driving the dads nuts, i'm saving you from being divided and interrogated" she tells us and I exchange a look with Henry.

"We're not worried about your family, we can hold our own" I tell her and she nods.
"Yes, you probably can, but this way is more fun" she adds and turns to lead us round the back of the house. Opening the doors to a conservatory where two women were sat talking.

"Hey Mom, Hi Aunt Lucy" Geneva says as they turn to face us, and I watch as the two get up to hug Geneva, it's obvious who is who, Teddy Kingswood is the older version of her daughters and Lucy Blackbourne we recognised from previous charity events.

"You must be Alex and Henry, I'm Teddy, this is Lucy" Teddy introduces, coming forward to greet us with hugs, followed by Lucy and Henry and I smile back, pulling Geneva back to our side as soon as we can, Teddy gasping as she catches sight of the ring on Gen's finger.
"Oh, It's beautiful, congratulations to you all" Teddy laughs as Gen blushes at our side.

Two more women appear in the entrance, each holding a baby and Gen rushes forward towards the younger one, "Ohh, they've grown" she coos, grinning as the woman hands the baby to Geneva, smiling as she stretches her back and groans, "I can't wait till they are walking" causing all the women to laugh.

Geneva turns towards us, the baby still cradled in her arms, and I know the thought hits me at the same time as Henry, god I want her to be holding our children. She steps towards us, her eyes shining up at us "This is Rowan, my niece" she says, showing us the tiny baby girl and I swallow hard to get rid of the emotion blocking my throat, as Henry answers for us in a low growl. "You are giving us ideas baby" and I watch as her eyes widen, as she realises what we mean.

The woman comes up to her side and retrieves the baby "Gosh, with looks like that we'd better hide you from the dads", she giggles and Geneva blushes again.

"Ohh, god sorry Ama, this is Alex and Henry, my my.." I watch her gulp before she says it "Fiance's, and this is Amalie and Lily, my brothers wives, Lily is holding Forest, Rowan's twin" she rushes out and everyone laughs.

"Show us the ring" Lily says stepping forward and passing Forest to Henry, and I laugh at the expression of terror on his face for a second, until Rowan is passed to me, and I feel terror myself, the women all crowded round Geneva admiring the ring, as we gaze down at the tiny infants.  Once again I know Henry and my thoughts have aligned, as we share a look over the babies heads, I hear a chuckle and turn to face Lucy and Teddy who are watching us both with their own knowing looks.

"Where is everyone" a male voice shouts from deeper inside the house, and the baby in my arms jumps a little at the sound, its eyes opening and staring up at me, and I feel the panic rush in as I watch the mouth open and a cry come out.

"You'll need more practice" Teddy laughs coming to pluck the baby from my arms and I look at Henry, whose baby has remained asleep and I understand what she means by her comment.

"Teddy!" the voice shouts again sounding nearer and we all watch as a tall man enters, his eyes locking on Gen's hand, which is still held up for her sisters to see the ring.

"What the hell is that" He barks and all the women eyes except Geneva's swivel to us.
"Papa, this is my engagement ring, and these are my fiancé's" she says calmly as we step up to her side. "Alex and Henry" she finishes into the silence.

"My study now young lady" he growls, his eyes on us "All of you!"
My hand wraps in Geneva's and I know Henry has the other one, and I take a step forward, blocking Gen from her father "No sir" I tell him firmly, holding his gaze.

There is silence for a minute before he grins and laughs. "You'll do" he says, his hand coming up to shake mine, then Henry's before he grabs Geneva into a hug, whispering aloud so the whole room can hear. "You sure baby, I can make them disappear, if its not what you want"

"Papa, leave them alone, I'm sure" she scolds him and I shake my head, god what a crazy family, who else was going to make us jump through hoops.

"Come on child, better go show the rest of them, and Paris, no sneaking around next time, spoils all our fun" he adds, pulling Geneva from our hold and out of the room with him, Henry and I following behind.

"Think of it as a hazing into the family" Lucy warns us quietly, "They all love fiercely, and are very protective of each other, but once you've proved yourselves, you'll be in for life"

"Thank you" I say as we step into a crowded room. Geneva freeing herself of her father and coming back to our sides, looking at us with a smile before turning to the rest of the room.

"Everyone, I have an announcement" she shouts loudly, getting all their attention. "This is Alex and Henry, my Fiancé's, be nice to them" she shouts and the room erupts with male shouts.
