35. First Bath

Me and Brandon are about to give baby Sarah her first bath tonight. We are pretty nervous about doing so we called Brandon's mom Gina over. Unfortunately my mom is no longer with us so Gina is the closest thing to a mom I've got. She's come over to assist us with Sarah's first bath. So we are in the kitchen getting things ready for Sarah's first bath. Gina is running the water warm in the sink. I've hit everything we need in the kitchen for Sarah's first bath. Hopefully she'll enjoy it. Gina has filled the bath and brings it over to the kitchen table. "It's at the right temperature" she said. "Great" I reply. I get Sarah undressed and lift her into the bath. She doesn't really like it when I get her undressed. Sarah flinches a little when I put her in the bath. "Awe, sweetie" Gina said. "My baby girl don't like it" Brandon said. We gently splash some warm water over Sarah for her to get used to the bath. "See you like it now, don't you" Brandon said. "She does I think" I reply. We wash Sarah when she's gotten used to the water and then lift her out and wrap her on her warm towel we warmed on the radiator. She was happy when I dressed her. I don't think Sarah's first bath went too bad. We couldn't have done it without Gina's help

Zion 💙

Zion and I are about to give baby Kamari a bath this morning. He is now a couple of weeks old now and his umbilical cord stump has come off so we can give him his first bath. We were shown how to bath a baby at our prenatal class so we should be able to do it. Anyway we are in the bathroom getting things ready for Kamari's bath. We have a baby bath to bathe him in. "How warm does the water need to be, babe?" Zion said. "Quite warm. Test it with your elbow" I say. "Okay" he replies. Zion fills the water and tests it with his elbow. "I think that's okay" he said. "Yep" I said testing it too. I get Kamari undress and take off his diaper and wiped him before placing him in the bath. "Hey. Do you like the water, little man?" Zion said. "I think he does" I reply. Zion holds Kamari as he's in the bath and splashes water. "Oh dang he pooped on me" Zion laughs. "Oh dear. Let's lift him out. I think we bathed him enough" i reply. He lifts Kamari out of the bath and I wrap him in a warm fluffy towel and dry him. "Promise daddy you'll never poop on him again" Zion said. "Zi, he didn't mean to. He was probably just getting used to the water" I reply. "I know. Sorry" he said. Anyway Kamari's first bath went okay apart from him pooping on Zion but that was okay

Edwin 🧡

Edwin and I have been waiting to give the gurus their first bath for the last couple of weeks now. We've been waiting till they've got a bit stronger and until their umbilical cord stumps have fallen off which they have now so we can give Nala and Nia their first baths tonight. Yay! We have bought two baths so we can both bathe them at the same time. We set things up in the kitchen for the girls baths. After we will be putting them to bed. Edwin was in charge of getting the gurus ready and I was in charge of filling the baths with warm water. I run the taps till the water was warm enough which it was so I test with my elbow. "I think they are ready for their first bath" Edwin said. "Yeah lets get them in" I reply. We grab one baby each. I bathe Nia and Edwin baths Nala. We get them both used to the temperature and feel of the water before washing them with a gentle facecloth. "Hey. I think they like it" he said. "Yeah they do" I reply. We bath the girls for about 10 minutes or so before getting them out and wrapping them in their nice warm towels and putting them a new diaper on and their clothes. "Great. We've given our girls their first bath" he said. "Yes we have and they enjoyed it" I smile. Edwin smiles back. So we get the girls off to bed and then we had sometime together ourselves

Nick ❤️

Over the last couple of weeks me and Nick have been giving baby Drew washes most days. You are not meant to bathe a baby till their umbilical stump has fallen off and it has now so we are going to give him his first bath and see if he likes it. We are in the kitchen as that is the best place to do it. Nick is running the water warm and then he'll fill the bath as I get Drew ready for his first bath. "Right now, little boy. You are about to have your first bath. Will you like it?" I say. To him. Drew kinda looks at me. Anyway a few minutes later Nick had finished he brings the bath over. "May I lift him in" he asks. "Yes of course you can, love" I reply. Nick and I swap places and he lifts Drew into the bath. It was just the right temperature for him too which was great. Nick holds onto Drew tightly so he doesn't drop him. I splash a bit of water on him. He seems to like it as he's kicking his legs. "Hey, boy. You like it" Nick said. "Hmmm yeah he does which is good because sone babies don't" I reply. As Nick is holding Drew I wash him gently with a face cloth and a bit of lotion. I rinse him off and soon he was done. We got him dried and a fresh diaper on before getting his clothes on. "There we go. You just had your first bath, Drewster" Nick said. So Drew's first bath went really well we would say

Austin 💚

Austin has had to go to the studio last minute but he's coming home anytime now. He's more or less recovered from his appendicitis the other week but he's still taking it easy. Anyway I'm going to give Amelia her first bath before he gets back. We haven't given her a bath yet but I am gonna now. I know Austin won't want me to do it on my own. Amelia is sat in her bouncy chair and I'm in the kitchen getting ready for her bath. So I run the tap and get the water warm and get the stuff out I'll be needing for her bath. When that was done I bring Amelia in and get her undressed before placing her in the bath. I hold onto her tight. As I was bathing Amelia, she was enjoying it. Austin arrives home when she's nearly done. "Hey, my girls. I'm home" he said. "Hey" I say. "You're giving her a bath" he asks. "Yes I am. I thought I would give her first bath" I reply. "Good but you should've done it with me" Austin said. "I know but I knew you would be tired" I reply. "Yeah but I wanted to give my daughter her first bath too" he said. "Well you can have a go now. Aust, don't be mad at me" I reply. "I'm not" he smiles. Austin gives bathing Amelia a little go and she likes her. He kinda missed it but he didn't really. Amelia enjoyed her first bath tonight
