After at least two hours of searching through old clothes, the group determined that the only thing that fit Kyle's twig-like body was a somewhat oversized jacket of Bows.
"That was what I wore my first day here. My dads gave it to me to keep me warm, but I never wore it after that day." Bow said, helping Kyle get his arms through the sleeves.
Kyle loved it. It was a soft cotton fabric, and a brilliant shade of blue. Small silver buttons adorned it, allowing Kyle to button up for warmth if he needed. The sleeves were a bit long, covering up most of his hands expect for his fingers.
"Thanks." He mumbled. Bow was really close to him, and it was making him to start to blush. He tried looking away, attempting not to focus on Bow, and ended up starring at Adora. She had this smug look on her face and Kyle knew what she was hinting at.
He's cute, isn't he?
Kyle shook his head, trying to discourage whatever else she was thinking. Instead, she turned and looked at Glimmer, who he now realized had the exact same look on her face.
He was about to yell at Adora out of embarrassment, but thankfully Bow stepped back in.
"Well, I guess we can just send these clothes out to some villages who need them. I doubt they will do me anymore good, except sitting around in my very large closet." He walked over and picked up the pile, starting towards the door.
"Do you need help or-" Bow interrupted her, nodding his head no. "I've got it Glimmer, I think I'm strong enough to carry a pile of clothes on my own. Just don't pick on Kyle too much while I'm gone, okay?"
As soon as the door shut behind him, Adora spoke up.
"You like him, don't you!"
Kyle face lit up, and he felt his plans getting sweaty.
"N-No! I just... I mean..."
Adora wrapped her arm around his neck. "Listen Kyle. You are, so, SO, obvious." Glimmer chuckled, "You've got some room to talk..." Adora decided to ignore the remark and continue on.
"Bow is cute, I think anyone with half a brain would know that." Kyle turned and looked at her curiously. "Do you like him or something?"
"HA!" She slapped him on the back, laughing at his serious question. "That's funny, really funny. No, sorry he's just a friend. I'm all about the ladies here." She winked at Glimmer, who was also stifling a laugh.
"So, what's your point then?" Kyle was pretty embarrassed, but he felt Adora was trying to say something else. She turned back to him, her face suddenly serious. "I want to help you."
It took him a moment to process what she was saying. "You want to... Why?!" Adora smiled, "Bows a great guy, but I see how he acts around other couples. He's lonely, and unfortunately, most people around here just aren't the interested. Now, you show up!"
Kyle was even more confused. This time it was Glimmer who stepped in.
"You're like, a sad, little puppy. I mean, you like him, and he's seems to like you. Think about it, he wouldn't have kept you around if he didn't. He just gave you his jacket!"
Kyle looked down, and contemplated it. "We hardly know each other. And the only reason why he gave me this was because it was the only thing that fit."
Adora and Glimmer looked at each other, frowns on their faces.
"You did just meet, but that means we can plan something for you two to get know each other... like a- WAIT! Glimmer, huddle!" Adora and Glimmer paired up, and began whispering again.
"You guys do this often, don't you?" Kyle asked, all embarrassment gone. These guys were dorks. Leaders of the rebellion, but also dorks.
"ALRIGHT, let's do this one last time. Kyle, Glimmer and I will be your... uh... wing-womans! But, you have to do favors for us in return." Adora spoke up, pulling away from Glimmer.
"What kind of favors?" Kyle asked, suddenly worried.
"Oh you know, chores and stuff. We have to help lead a rebellion, we don't have time to do laundry or dishes or cleaning or..." Glimmer began listing off things, Adora nodding her head along.
"But aren't you a princess, don't you have workers to do that for you?" Glimmer sat down on her bed, and sighed. "I wish. My mom makes me do them because I'm still "just a kid". I'm not even a little kid anymore! I'm old enough to tell someone ELSE to do my laundry, but nooo it's, "Glimmer, go help clean your diet covered clothes" or "Glimmer, go help organize scrolls in the library!" It's so boring!"
He thought about it. He doubted that he would be allowed to go on any quests with the rebellion soldiers anytime soon, and the prospect of sitting around all day in a room with nothing to do didn't sound exactly fun either. Plus, if they could, he might have a chance at getting closer to Bow.
He thought about it for a few more minutes, then sighed. "Oh, why not."
"YES! You will not regret this!" Adora picked him up, and held him in a bear hug. The door opened, and Bow stuck his head in.
"I didn't miss anything, did I?"
