Getting a skiff wasn't hard. All Kyle had to do was maneuver around the guards and whoever else. The rest was just a matter of memory and timing.
He kept in mind which guard was where, and as he rounded corners he made sure to watch for the passing patrols.Just a few hallways away, he would find the lock bay, which using some codes he had learned from Entrapta's constant mumblings as she worked, Kyle could have easy access. He stopped when he heard voices ahead.
Poking his head cautiously around the corner, he saw Catra and Scorpia having a discussion in front of the lock bay.
"If we hadn't taken that skiff she wouldn't have left. She could still be here." Catra pressed a hand to the closed door. She was visibly upset, and Scorpia of course, noticed.
"Hey now, it's not your fault! I mean, even if she did leave, you have me and Entrapta now!" Her optimism seemed to only anger Catra.
"It's fine!" She slammed her first on the door, clearly agitated. She turned and hurried down the hall, some spark ignited within her, only fueling more wicked plans and ideas. Scorpia only tried to help of course, she tried helping everyone. Still it seemed Catra was to stubborn and arrogant to change.
But it didn't matter, because now they were gone. Now was his chance, and Kyle was not going to miss it. Rushing over, he opened the panel that controlled the doors. The sounds of buttons clicking filled corridor, and seconds later the doors opened, allowing Kyle to pass through.
Once he had gotten into the bay, he made sure he closed the doors behind him. No guards were on duty right now. He knew this from the schedules they had been sent this week. Catra was supposed to be here, but because of the new promotion, they had to find a replacement. So because no one had been found and the substitute guards had to meet outside the bay, this spot was not monitored for a few minutes.
Acting fast, he hopped on to the skiff nearest to him. He reached for the stick and...He stopped. What am I doing. Why am I doing this? What happens next? A million thoughts invaded his mind. Everything that kept him tethered here, to this awful place, clouded his thoughts. Minutes, or was it hours? He stood there thinking... Until.
He came into his mind. It was weird. The way he sliced through the raging storm of thoughts in his head. In a split second, everything was calm. And he could think.
And he took the stick in his hand, and thinking no more, drove forward. It was all a blur. He saw the Fright Zone fade behind him. And before him, the barren landscape became a forest.
