Chapter 11 "The Lock Down" Part 1

            Oh boy...I have not wrote in this book for a while. So let's speed things up! It's now October 4th 2019 and nothing really heart racing exciting has happened. Carmen, Sadie, and Margret where all arrested due to various things. Attempted murder, slavery, kidnapping, and illegal possession of a firearm. The school was much safer and people treated me as a "hero" but I wasn't. They all saw my "heroic" actions but I am mostly a wimp. I couldn't even stand up for myself when Carmen tried to stab me. What if Xavier had gotten hurt?

      I was slouching  on the couch alone. Well not really ALONE, Paige was sitting on a arm chair opposite to the couch. Xavier had to finish up a history project about colonial punishments. She was up in her room so it was best to not disturb her. When I was watching USam, a hit children's show from 2007 to 2012 that stars Sam Pumpernickel as she tries to becomes a internet idol, I was interrupted by Jess  as she looms over me with a smile. I look up to see Jess looking at me. I ask her,

"What's with the smile?" 

"I got something fun for us to do..." Jess says as her smile becomes devilish.

"UHHHHHHHH!" I said as I jumped up from the couch and I fast walk to the men's hallway.

"What the, NO! Get your mind out of the gutter." Jess said furiously. 

"Then what do you mean by 'fun'?" I asked questioningly

"Well I got 2 tickets to Comic-Con and I was wondering if you would go with me? You know just two friends going somewhere fun." 

"Why me? Why can't you ask Paige or Sarah?" 

"Sarah and Paige already have plans. Besides they have work."

      Oh yeah I forgot. Sarah works at a supermarket in the school's colossal mall and Paige works at Michelle's in the same location. The school's colossal mall has a bunch of stores, fast food and all. It's mainly for Senior's and or Junior's who had jobs in O-side. Their jobs get transferred over with the same hours and shifts and they get paid the same amount of money, like REAL money. Joey has a job at Slam-a-lama Donuts, just saying.

"So you're asking me to come with you?" 

"Yeah. If you want." 

"Oh don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to go but I don't feel comfortable dressing up as a character from a anime or cartoon."

"You don't need to. Some people don't dress up." 

"Yeah like a good 1%."

"I'm sure you'll be fine." 

"Sign. Fine I'll dress up. I'll see what I can put together." 

"YES! Alright we leave on Sunday. A bus will pick us up and drop us off at the convention. It's only a 2 hour drive."

"It's here in Colorado? That's convenient."

"Yeah it is. See you soon." Jess says as she walks up the stairs to her room. 

      I decided to dress up as Dick Sanchez from the memorable adult show Dick & Mortimer. Dick Sanchez is a crazy scientist that has Mortimer as his assistant. I ordered a blue spiky wig and a large lab coat off of the school's amazon on my phone. Tomorrow came around and my package came with my wig and lab coat. I tried it on and I looked nothing like the character. I sit on my bed in sadness with the costume still on. I laid down on my bed to look up at the ceiling.  The days flew by it was already Sunday, October 6th. Jess came down stairs with her costume on. She was some sort of gray cat thing with a blue at, a blue cat tail, a black shirt with the Leo zodiac symbol on it, and she was wearing a green jacket. 

"Alright lets go!" Jess says as she walks out the door

I followed her to see other students in different costumes waiting at the bus stop. My heart raced as we waited for the bus

"Nervous?" Jess asked "It's okay to feel that way."

"Yeah I know. I don't even know why I'm nervous." Before I can finish my thought the bus came. We all got on and I sat next to Jess as she sits next to the window. 

I looked through my phone on social media to see nothing on there. Before I knew it, we where already at the con. It was too crowded. Luckily it was 50 degrees so everyone's body heat kinda kept me warm but not like dangerously hot. Me and Jess stayed close to each other as we got to the ticket booth. She flashes our tickets to the guy and we got in. It was nothing like I'd seen before! Almost like 10,000 people were dressed up as lots of different characters from anime, cartoons, and even video games! 

"Hey come on! Follow me." Jess said as she waved me over. 

We stayed pretty close to each other as we got to different booths selling some merchandise, YouTuber's were the biggest sellers. I didn't spend a lot money but I did got a plushy and that's it. What can I say? I like plushy's. We walked around a bit more to see some big tents referencing cartoons like a crab trap restaurant from a kids show. One thing I noticed was there where a huge amount of people wearing Dick Sanchez costumes. He must be pretty popular. We got the center of the convention to see a lot of people crowded around a highly secured place.

"Wanna go see it?" Jess asked me 

"Yeah sure. What are we seeing?" I asked questioningly 

"You'll SEE! AAHAHAHAHA!" 

"...shut up..."

      We got close to the object in the center and to my surprise it was beautiful gem with the convention's logo craved in it. It was so mesmerizing. The shine of the gem with the angle of the sun hitting the gem just right shows a glorious rainbow shining at all corners. 

"Isn't beautiful?" Jess asked me

"Yeah. It really is." I tell her 

"Well we can't stay for too long. Let's get going. There's another merchandise area on the east side." Jess told me 

      We made our way to the east side and Jess bought even more stuff. She already bought like 4 cat plushy's and now she's buying even more anime stuff. At least it's not more cat stuff. We finally got up to the booth wear a woman is selling her original manga book. Jess proceeded to buy a copy but out of no where the lights in the convention turned off and it was pitch black! 

"Leo what's going on?!" Jess asked frighteningly

"How am I supposed to know?!" 

The sounds of loud cos players filled the area

"Whats going on?!"
"Why is it dark?!"
"Is there a power outage?"
"Has anyone seen my boyfriend?!" 

Then a mysterious sound played. The shattering of glass being broken was heard and the whole convention went silent. I was grabbing Jess' arm for like 5 seconds until loud alarms screeched and everyone was panicking even more! Red lights filled the whole convention and police force blocked every exit. I grabbed Jess and pulled her under a table where I shhhed at her. The muffled sounds of alarms and cos players yelling were the only things we heard under the table. Once the alarms stopped everyone else stopped. I rushed out from under the table and Jess soon followed me. I ran to the area of where glass shattered and to my shock the convention's gem was stolen...
