A Sun Lit Path

Chapter 18 "A Feast with Friends" Part 3

      "FINALLY! We're here! FEMBOY HOOTERS!" Simon yelled. 

"It would've been quicker if we actually followed the map instead of taking that god damn short cut." Ryan said mockingly as he turns to look at Joey.

"Hey don't look at me. We had some time to kill and we made here in time for our reservation." Joey said with confidence.

"You made us WALK AROUND THE WHOLE MALL!" Simon yelled angrily at Joey in his face.

"Ugh...Anyway let's get our table." Joey said as he walks away from Simon. 

Joey, the gang, and myself walk up to the entrance and see a waiter at the podium with menus in hand. "Hello there follow customers. What will it be?" The waiter says soft like tone. "Um yeah we have a reservation under District 3 House 2." Joey says to the waiter. "Ah yes. Right this way!" The waiter said as he grabs 6 menus for all of us. We follow the waiter to back of the restaurant where there is a table for the 6 of us.  

      "Here is your table! Your waiter will come by very shortly." The waiter seats us down and we begin to look at the menu.  

I'm at the end of the right side of the table. I'm sitting next to Ryan and straight ahead of me is Joey. Joey is sitting next to Jess. We all have our eyes focus on the menu until we hear, 

"Welcome to Femboy Hooters! My name is Derick and I will be serving for you at this time. So what does everyone want to drink with?" Derick says with his pen and pad in hand. 

"I'll take the lemonade." Simon said.

"I'll take the coke." Joey says to Derick.

"Can I have the blue raspberry lemonade?" Sarah says to Derick. "You may." Derick says to them.

"I'll have the...uhhhh...hmmm..." Jess is still thinking on what to order. "Do you need a minute?" Derick ask Jess. "No! Um sorry I'll have the chocolate milkshake." Says Jess.

"Do you guys have any lemon ice tea?" Ryan says to Derick. Derick looks stricken with disappointment  "Ooh sorry we don't...We do have the strawberry ice tea, peach ice tea, raspberry ice tea, green tea ice tea, warm tea, and-" "I'll have the peach ice tea." Ryan cuts off Derick.

"And what about this boy over in the back?" Derick says to me.

Everyone has their eyes at me. "I'll just have the water." I said to Derick in a sleepy manner.

"Okay! Coming right up!" Derick leaves the area of our table. 

"You good fam?" Joey says to me.

"Yeah." I said not even looking at Joey.

      Everyone is still looking at the menus. 

"They literally don't have anything here." Ryan says puzzled.

"Ryan it's all bar food." Simon looks at Ryan.

"I'll just have the mozzarella sticks." Joey says. 

"Yeah same." Jess says putting down her menu.

"I'll just have the buffalo chicken burger." I said putting down my menu as well.

"You know what...I'm gonna have the boneless wings." Ryan says. 

"What sauce are you gonna have with that?" Joey says to Ryan.    

"Nothing." Ryan says to Joey."

"No sauce?" 

"Yeah." 

"What are you? A psychopath?!" 

"No Joey. I'm not."

Simon looks at Sarah. "Yo what about Sarah? I'm gonna get the-"

"It's Terri now." As they cut off Simon.

"...ok but that does not answer my question." Simon says to Terri. 

"The salad." Terri says with a slight attitude. 

"I'm just gonna get the chicken teddies with mac & cheese." Simon says out loud.

Joey looks over to Simon, "Isn't that on the kids menu?"

"Yeah? What about it?" Simon looks as Joey with a more visible attitude. 

"You really gonna get that?" Joey looks surprised as he looks back down at his menu. 

"Dude, just shut up." Simon says pissed off. 

      We all wait for our drinks to come by but after 20 minutes we did not get them. During that time Joey went to bathroom. Not long after Ryan also went to the bathroom. When Joey and Ryan got back out of the 6 minute bathroom break, Simon goes into the bathroom as well. 

"Sorry to make you all wait so long!" Derick says with a tray full of out drinks. "One lemonade, one coke, one peach ice tea, one blue raspberry lemonade, one chocolate milkshake, and one water." Derick says while giving each of us our drinks, " Are you guys ready to order?" Derick says while busting out his pen and paper.

We all look around at each other, "Yeah we are." Joey says at Derick. 

We all said our orders to Derick. He writes our orders down and scurries off. During that time of waiting they all chatted about various things while I stayed on my phone not caring about what they say. I am invisible to them.  

"Okay here is your food." Derick says while giving us our food, "Is that all?" Derick ask us.

"Yeah we are fine." Joey says as Derick walks away. 

"Oh my GOD! The food is here sooo good!" Jess says with a mouth full of mozzarella sticks. 

"It will is." Terri says while looking down at their salad. 

I eat my chicken burger will buffalo sauce dripping down from the back. "It really is spicy. Why did I order this? I hate buffalo sauce!" I said in my head. My thoughts were interrupted by what I hear was ticking. "It's probably from a clock."  Instead the ticking was more closer than I thought. I looked around the area where we are seated at and I saw no clocks. I look at the bathroom near us where Ryan, Joey, and Simon used. I got up to the bathroom door and put my ear on the door. The ticking is coming from the bathroom. 

"Hey! Alex! What are you doing?" Joey says to me. 

"Joey...when you used the bathroom...was there clock in there?" I said slowly walking back to Joey. 

"Ummm I don't think so...?" Joey says puzzled. 

"oh shi-" My sentence was cut off short by a loud explosion. Someone planted a bomb in the bathroom.
