5 (John's Point of View)

"And you didn't shag her?" Paul asked me as we got ready to go out for Audrey's birthday. All of us love rock 'n' roll, we were going to see a band preform tonight, go dancing at a pub. Normally, Audrey wouldn't come with us, but since it was her birthday, she has to. It's a best friend birthday tradition.

I continued to look in the mirror, fixing my hair. "I couldn't," I sighed. "All I could think about was Kaityln. I felt ashamed, somehow, if I would've shagged that girl. Like Kaityln would've found out and hate me," I shrugged, pretending these words actually didn't hurt me.

"Are you going to dance with her tonight?" George asked me.

I smirked. "Only if you'll dance with Audrey."

George stayed quiet and I scoffed, happy to win the small argument.

"Why not?" Paul asked.

I turned from the mirror to look at Paul, giving him my typical dirty look. It used to terrify him, but I think he's gotten used to it by now. I used to be the superior, now we're both equal. "What?" I made sure my voice had strength and loudness to it.

"Why don't you dance with her tonight?" Paul challenged me.

"Why don't you get a real girlfriend, instead of hitting on our best friend?" I challenged back.

Paul's voice got louder, he's face started to turn red with anger. "Why don't YOU stop being a dick, and learn how to treat a fucking girl right!"

"Guys, calm down-" George tried to step between us.

"Piss off!" I yelled at George, pushing him back. I balled my fists and walked closer to Paul. "Why don't YOU-"

"You wanna hit me? Like you did to that guy in the ally earlier? Go ahead. Hit me. C,'mon!" Paul came closer, leaving only a few inches between us.

The three of us were quiet for a moment. I slowly began to lower my hand, my anger ending.

Paul's face was still red, his fists still ready to hit me.

I glanced at George, standing in the corner of the room, staring at us.

"Get out!" Paul yelled, pointing to the door.

I didn't move.

His dad came to the door. "Is everything okay?"

I licked my lips and nodded, not looking away from Paul. "We're okay."

Mr. McCartney looked at George, silently asking if that was the truth.

George nodded.

Without another word, Mr. McCartney left us alone again.

Paul had finally calmed down. His face was back to normal color, his hands at his sides.

I cleared my throat. "I'm sorry."

Paul nodded, simply moving back to the mirror to get ready.

"I can't believe I'm in love with an older woman," George joked, trying to change the subject. "You guys should beat Michael up for me," he laughed.

"I think John is in love with Kaityln," Paul said.

"Using me to hide his true feelings," I laughed. What if I really do love her? I asked myself. "I plan on meeting a girl tonight. We'll both get drunk, that way she's easy."

George looked at Paul, he didn't believe that those were my true intentions. George grabbed his present for Audrey and the flowers he bought for her.

"She's going to know you love her, mate." Paul said gently.

"Is it bad if she does?" George questioned, smiling like a fool.

Huh, maybe that's not such a horrid idea, I thought. I could use a few lessons from this boy. "What if she doesn't love you back?" I asked him, hoping he was unaware I was using him as a Guinea pig.

"I would just want her happy, even if she was happy not loving me," George said sadly. "Ready to go?" He asked, back to his normal, happy self.

I fixed the collar of my leather jacket and nodded. "It's time for rock 'n' roll."

"And love," George joked.
