POV: 3rd person.
Time: Past"Virgil!"
Virgil heard as he was playing. He quickly stood up and ran to the source of the sound. He was greeted by his mother lightly rubbing his head. "Ready to go home?" she asked. Virgil thought for a moment, " A few more minutes please?" He begged. His mother laughed softly. "Alright, just 20 more minutes". Virgil squealed and gave a quick 'thank you' before hurriedly going back to his spot and make use of the extra time.A little while after, he heard faint rustling and looked up. To his surprise, he found a grown man looking at him. The man had sparkling blue eyes that looked a little dull and void of life. It wasn't surprising alone, but what really shocked the little boy was that the man looked slightly transparent.
"Hello young man" the man said softly. Virgil waved back looked at him. He noticed the man's clothing. He had a normal blue short sleeve polo, light brown pants, and white shoes. He had a grey cardigan wrapped around his shoulder, making it look like a cape. His skin was light brown, if you looked closely. He had thick black rimmed glasses. His face was round with freckles all over his face. He looked kind.
Virgil smiled, the man making him slightly at ease. It didn't give him anxiety, unlike the others, instead it gave him the feeling he always had with his mother. "Hello sir, would you like to play with me?" He asked politely. The man looked happy when he replied.
"I would love to."
Minutes passed by quickly, and eventually, Virgil had to leave his friend behind, his mother was calling him. Virgil was saddened and looked towards his friend.
"Will I ever see you again?" He asked with a sad expression. The man only laughed and rubbed his head. The man touched him, he knew it, but it felt oddly cold and numb, like he never even touched it in the first place. "We'll meet each other again soon, trust me" he said. Virgil's mother took him by the hand and dragged him out of the playground. "Come on honey" she said lightly. Virgil nodded and looked back one last time, only to see that the man was nowhere to be found.
And that's a wrap folks! Hope you enjoy his very short prologue. By now, I'm sure you know who the man is. If you don't, then you'll be in for a surprise.
Take it easy Guys, Gals, and Non-binary pals!
Peace out!!
