POV: 3rd Person
Timeline: Present

Before we jump in, I have to give some sort of warning.
Mentions of panic attacks, abuse (self-harm), depression, and suicide are included. If you are sensitive to these subjects, please do not read any further. Your health is more important :)

The hallways of the school were quiet. The only sounds that were heard were the sound of the teachers talking to their fellow students, students making occasional noises, and the distant, quiet, but audible crying. The sound was slightly muffled, and it came from the toilets. Specifically, the boys' area.

Inside one of the stalls was a sobbing boy. He had bruises all over his skin and fat tears flowing down his cheeks. His head was full of toxic thoughts. The boy was having a panic attack, hugging himself in attempts to calm down. He sat there silently waiting for the bell to ring. He just wanted to go home.

After what seemed like hours, the bell finally rang. The boy sighed in relief and stood up. He walked out of the stall and slowly opened the door. He peeked out and looked around in search for the two boys. Once he saw that they weren't around, he ran to his locker, grabbed his things and rushed to the doors that led to the outside. He opened the door and ran outside the gates, panting as he gathered his breath. He didn't want to meet those boys, he's had enough.

He thought he was finally free from them, given that he already made friends, but no, he was never free was he? The boy sighed in defeat and considered waiting for his friends but decided against it as he might come across those horrible boys. He started walking towards his house, observing his surroundings. His house was a little far but he figured that he should get to know this part of the small town he lived in. He hummed a soft tune belonging to My Chemical Romance. He placed his hands in his pockets, enjoying the nice and peaceful silence. He came across a small lake with a bridge on top of it. Beyond that he noticed the all too familiar park he used to play in. He smiled, remembering the times he and his mother would visit there. He also remembered someone else, he just couldn't put his finger on it. The park also meant another thing, he was close to home.

He went inside the park, a warm feeling bursting inside of him as he saw the playground where his mother would let him play in for a few minutes, the miniature lake in which both he and his mother would feed the duck and her small children bread, and the big field where they would run around, chasing each other. His smile grew larger as he approached a tree.

To others it would've looked like a normal tree. But to him, it was the time where he, his mother and his father would sit at the end of the day. They would talk and let their hearts out. He missed those times. His smile slightly faltered when he remembered the last time he saw his father.

.........His father.

A six year-old Virgil woke up to the sound of screaming and sobbing. He was at the park and he accidentally slept under the tree. He moved his hands around trying to find his mother's and father's arms. When he noticed they were gone he quickly stood up and nervously looked around. When he saw his father and his mother near the lake, he immediately ran towards them. But what he saw later made his heart shatter into a billion pieces.

His dad was holding a gun. where he got that? The boy was unsure. Meanwhile his mom stood there shaking, sobbing quietly while screaming for his father to stop. They were the only people left in the park, fortunately, and that meant we were the only witnesses. He stopped abruptly, tears falling from his eyes. Poor Virgil, for he did not know what his dad was about to do. But he saw that his mother was crying heavily, and that was enough to give him anxiety.

His dad smiled bitterly, Virgil noticing his long sleeve polo was gone and was changed to a simple short sleeve shirt. He saw that his dad had a tremendous amounts of cuts, varying in size and depth. Some looked very old while some looked like they just happened minutes ago. Virgil gasped in worry and flinched when his dad looked at him with his deep blue eyes.

Those eyes used to calm him. It reminded him of the deep blue sea, but now, it unsettled him. The eyes that used to be filled with life looked dull and lifeless. His eyes that were once bright now looked dim and the colors looked grey. Virgil's heart broke even more when his dad smiled bitterly. A smile that looked sad but bitter at the same time. He closed his eyes and,

"I'm sorry, please don't cry. I love both of you"

And he shot himself.....

Virgil realized he was crying when his vision blurred. He didn't really care though, he just stood there, terrible memories replaying in his head. He sat down after a few minutes, getting sick of standing. He sat there in silence, not really processing his surroundings.

A few minutes later, though Virgil felt like it was hours, he sighed and stood up. He walked out the park, taking one last glance, before leaving. He missed his dad. He missed the fun times where they would just hang out as a family. A family. He yearned to have one. Sure his mother is still here and deeply loves him, but she is always at work. She's rarely at home.

A family...............

Maybe Virgil has a chance. Maybe, he can have a family again. Maybe

His family would be the people he trusted the most,

Or it could be the people he's going to be afraid of.

That's a wrap folks!!!!

Here we have a sneak peak at Virgil's past! It is a very important factor to the story, you'll soon find out why. Anyway, this thing is a tad bit short so sorry about that. Also I'll add Thomas in this since he doesn't get featured a lot in most fanfics. And because I need a character to replace a certain person. That's all I'm gonna say Anyway!

Take it easy guys, gals, and Non-binary pals!

Peace out!
