POV: Virgil
Time: Present

I groan as I left the classroom. It's just my first day but my head already feels like it's about to explode. I just left Math class and was about to go to the lunch room when I felt a tap on my shoulder, followed by a scream.

"Hello there Emo!!" Roman screamed. I sighed in annoyance. "Good day to you too. Also thanks for making me deaf". He smirked and went to my left. "You're welcome". I hum in response, slightly shifting to my right. Human contact for me is a no no.

We walked to the lunchroom together and found Logan silently reading the Science book he had read a while back. I whistled softly to tell him we're here. Logan looked up silently, face calm but the eyes filled with warmth and happiness.

"You're late. Lunch started exactly 2 minutes ago" Logan playfully crossed his arms. I felt Roman move. I looked towards him and saw that he put his hand near his heart, gasping dramatically. "Logan!! Why would you bother to count! Are you making us insecure?". Logan sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose. I giggled quietly. "Lets just proceed inside". I nodded quickly and heard a quiet "alright alright" from Roman. He followed Logan inside. I quickened my pace as they walked slightly faster than i did. When we arrived and I got a good look at the lunchroom, my anxiety started rising.

The room was huge. Dozens and dozens of tables filled with students. Loud chatter filled the room, conversations overlapping one another. The smell of food lingered in the air. Cool breeze clutching onto your skin. Sun rays leaking in from the small windows. It was all calming to me, except for the students. As we lined up to grab some food, I felt as if everyone started staring at me, it was quite unnerving. I felt the noise slightly die down. I felt like all my moves were being watched and judged. Whispers filled the room, my anxiety making it seem as though they were talking about me. My body shook slightly, a panic attack coming.

I stopped abruptly, hands wrapping around my body, trying desperately to stabilize myself. Roman looked backed and asked, his face etched with worry and concern. "You....okay there V?". "Roman, he obviously isn't fine, he is having a panic attack. Can't you see?" Logan sighed as he walked towards me, hands slowly reaching for my back. He whispered, asking if it was okay to touch me. I nodded slowly, the panic attack wasn't severe, it was just a little heightened because of my self-doubt. Logan rubbed circles at my back and motioned for me to look at him. "Virgil, listen to my voice and follow what I do, alright?". I nod slightly and looked towards him. Logan looked a little blurry but not so much that I can't see him anymore.

"Alright, now Virgil, breath in for four seconds. Like what I'm doing" he said, his voice softer than usual. I followed, my breathing a little shaky. Logan had a small smile on his face after seeing I followed. "Now, hold it for seven seconds". I held it, eyes still locked towards Logan's deep blue eyes. I calmed down a bit,
though not alot. It reminded me of someone, though I'd rather not tell. my breath was slowing, Logan took this as a go sign.  "You're doing good. Now, breath out for eight seconds" Logan encouraged.

After a while, after a few more rounds I had calmed down. At least calm enough that I was stable enough to stand up and walk around, Roman in the lead with Logan following shortly behind. We received our lunch and found a table. Roman and Logan sat beside each other while I sat on the opposite side. I sat there eating my lunch and occasionally playing with it, fidgeting around awkwardly. "How come you had a panic attack?" Roman asked, breaking the ice. I looked at him, confusion filling my senses. "Obviously I have anxiety. You never noticed?". "No, you never got nervous the first time we met you" Roman shrugged. I stayed silent, realizing it. How come I never did get nervous? I eased up the moment I saw them. I thought. "Guess I just trust you a lot. Oddly" I replied bluntly. Roman's face has confusion written all  over whereas Logan's eyebrow only raised. He looked like he wanted to say something but decided to just keep quiet. I let it pass my head and continued to eat my lunch. Minutes passed by and I realized there were 5 more minutes left before the bell rang. I stood up and said before I left
"Thanks for the help Logan".

I swear I could sense the feeling of warmth radiating from Logan and the small smile that slowly made over to his face.

It's a time skip if you're wondering

I walked towards the Art room, hands inside my pockets. I dragged my feet as I walked towards the room. Get a hold of yourself Virgil. One more period left before school ends. I didn't really mind Art, I enjoy it a bit actually. It's just that it is something I'm embarrassed to talk about. I was about to enter the classroom when I got blocked by two boys. One had a black jacket with matching glasses and jeans and the other had similar clothing, just without the jacket and glasses. They were slightly taller than I was and wore a smug smile on their faces.

"Hey look at this emo here. Isn't he so ugly?" One mocked. "And a midget too" the other added. They laughed loudly. I rolled my eyes and moved past them, eager to go in the classroom and in the safety of the teacher. They stopped laughing and grabbed me by the back, noticing that I haven't been listening. "Ya got the nerve to ignore me, huh pipsqueak?" The one in glasses spoke, venom in his voice. I flinched, getting slightly anxious. "P-please don't hurt me" I pleaded. The boys just stared at me and laughed.

"Oh we won't hurt you" the one without the glasses said, fake sweetness in his voice. " We'll just beat you into a pulp" the other finished. They threw me into the bathroom, my back slamming against the wall hard. I gasped and fell down, cringing from the pain as a tear fell down. I cowered in fear as they grew closer to me. The first one ran towards me and kicked me in the stomach, making me groan in pain. They laughed yet again and continued to hit me.

Punch after punch, kick after kick. It never stopped. After what seemed like forever, they finally stopped after feeling content. They walked away and said something that sent shivers down my side. "Never ignore us. Or else" the one in glasses threatened. " You don't deserve to live, just die" the other remarked. I went inside one of the stalls, crying to myself. I believed every thing they said, like the idiot I am, and continued to cry. They're right. I'm so useless, I can't even protect myself. I wanna die. No one would care anyway. I should just jump off the roof and end all of this.

I stayed like this until the bell rang.

Whoo boy. That escalated quickly. I'm so sorry this book is just everywhere. I'll try to fix it, don't worry. Anyway, hope you like it and see you in the next One!

Take it easy Guys, Gals, and Non-Binary Pals!

Peace out!
