Chapter 4

POV: Virgil
Timeline: Present

I woke up to my head exploding, I flinched from the pain as my hand instinctively flew to my temple, rubbing it as if to soothe the headache I have. I pulled my blankets higher, too tired to get up. Not to mention this stupid headache. After maybe 10 minutes the headache grew mild and I wasn't that tired anymore so I decided to get up my bed, dragging my feet across the floor.

After doing my usual routine, I walked to the kitchen and grabbed a really big mug, filling it to the brink with coffee. That, and the toasted bread with salted butter was my breakfast. I never liked eating a lot and I would prefer to eat something light like bread, or potatoes. After that I got my bag and house keys ( in case my mom wasn't home when I would arrive), I left the house and waited patiently at the bus stop. I took this chance to check his watch.

7:00am

I blinked. Wow, I'm late today. I looked towards the schedule of the school bus and saw that one would arrive at any minute. I released my breath I didn't know I held. I sat on the seat, humming a tune while waiting, and stood up when I heard a roar. I walked near the edge of the sidewalk and waited for the bus to stop. When it did, I quickly got up the bus and sat at the back of the bus and looked out the window. At least I have Logan and Roman to look forward to. I stopped, why do I trust them so much? The bus abruptly stopped and I got off the bus.

I walked in the hallways and arrived at my locker. I saw Roman and Logan and I almost smiled.

"Sup Princey, Logan" i said casually. They stopped their conversation and snapped their heads towards me.

"Salutations Virgil"

"Hey, it's Panic! at the everywhere, wassup?"

I don't need a brain to know who said those. I was about to have a remark on Roman's nickname when I saw the two boys in the corner of my eyes. Panicking, I quickly ran behind the Roman and whispered, "Please don't let them see me". Roman took the signal and stood tall. Logan, on the other hand, gripped my hand and squeezed it reassuringly, signalling that both Roman and he would protect me. I smiled and my shaking body relaxed slightly. The two boys saw me behind Roman and laughed.

"What a coward!" the boy without  glasses said. "You have no right to bully him!" Roman said, anger clear in his voice. The boy shrank slightly, probably because Roman is one one of the strongest people in school. The other one however, wasn't ruffled at all. " Why hang out with those two? You can join us and become popular Roman!" The boy said.

"I'll have to decline Chad. Hanging out with Microsoft Nerd and Emo Nightmare is much more better than hanging out with a bunch of bullies!" Roman screamed at the boy named Chad. Chad growled before saying to his friend, "Come on Frank. Let's go",  and left. Silence followed as Virgil stopped shaking and stepped out from Roman's back.

"Thanks for the help Roman and Logan" I murmured. They both said "You're welcome" and Logan added "I will go to the principal and report this so that your experience in school will remain satisfactory, I'll be seeing you in Science?". "Sure, see you" I replied and we went our separate ways.

The day went by quickly. I had a small confidence boost when I found out Logan and Roman would be there for me. They felt like the family I had longed for so long. I was walking down the same path I took yesterday, reason being the park. I walked slowly, hands in my pocket and earphones plugged and playing a song I really like (You choose what song he's playing).
