Chapter 1 - "I'm Gonna Break Your Little Heart"

Jack's P.O.V.

I walked into the living room, where I'm pretty sure Alex wouldn't be, and turned on the tv. The news was on, and I usually don't watch the news, I mean it's just so boring and half of what the news people talk about don't even make much sense, but before I could even change the channel, the news lady caught my attention with some story about some girl trying to commit suicide after finding out her boyfriend was gay, and that he was secretly seeing her brother behind her back.

"That's so stupid." I thought to myself as the news lady went on, and on, like it was this huge deal or something. I mean don't get me wrong, trying to commit suicide is absolutely not the answer, but just the way the lady on the news was only talking about her boyfriend being gay and seeing her brother behind her back, and not about the girl almost killing herself.

Now that's just fucking wrong.

I'm pretty sure, a girl almost taking her own life is way more important then some dude's sexuality, and that is a fact, and now you know why I fucking hate the news.

"Jack." I hear Alex say from behind, panicking at the sound of Alex's voice, I quickly turn off the tv.

"Yeah?"

"You ready?"

"Yup." I said trying to stay clam.

"Ok. So, let's go. I don't wanna be late." Alex said before walking out to his car.

I take a quick breather before walking out to Alex's car, and hopping in before Alex starts getting mad that I'm gonna make him late. If your wondering why I'm having to ride with Alex, it's because my car is being fixed so I had no choice but to catch a ride with Alex, but don't get it twisted, I don't really mind having to ride with Alex to school, because that way I can admire that beautiful face of his the whole ride.

"Why were you watching the news, I thought you hated the news?" Alex asked.

"I do. But some story came up about a girl almost committing suicide." I said.

"What? Why?" Alex questioned.

"Because she found out that her boyfriend was gay and that he was secretly seeing her brother." I explained.

"Ok. That's a pretty stupid reason to end a life. I mean, not that people should use reasons for killing themselves." Alex stated.

"I agree."

"But she's ok though, right?"

"Yeah. She 'almost' committed suicide. She didn't succeed, thankfully." I smiled.

"I'm glad she didn't succeed." Alex said.

"Me too. So, Starbucks?"

"Jack, we really don't have time to stop for Starbucks."

"Aww, why not?" I pouted.

"You know why."

"Fine." I crossed my arms pretending to be angry at Alex.

I seen Alex glance over at me a couple of times, which almost caused me to have a heart attack by the way, but I somehow still managed to keep that angry look on my face.

"Ok. We'll get Starbucks." Alex said finally giving in. My face just lite in excitement when I heard Alex say that, I mean there is no words to explain how much I love Starbucks, I felt a smile go across my face as I let out a loud squeal that caused Alex to laugh a little.

"Thanks Lex." I said before giving Alex the most cheesiest of smiles.

"Yeah. Yeah. But if I'm late, I'm gonna kick your ass." Alex made it clear, before taking a right hand turn into the Starbucks parking lot.

"You have to get off and get them." Alex said as he turned off the engine.

"No. You!" I said once again crossing my arms.

"You go get them, and I'll pay. Deal?" Alex compromised as he held out a twenty dollar bill for me to take.

"Deal!" I said before quickly snatching the green paper out of his hand, and getting out of the car in a hurry.

"Hey Jack!" I hear as I walk into Starbucks.

"Hey I didn't know you were working today." I said as I noticed the familiar face.

"Well duh. I'm here basically every morning." She smiled.

"Yeah I know. I basically see you every fucking morning." I laughed as I got closer to the counter.

"So the usual then?"

"Yeah." I said handing out the twenty dollar bill Alex had given me.

"Ok." She smiled at me before taking the twenty dollar bill.

By the way if your wondering who the girl is, her name is Jessica, Jess for short and I met her by coming to Starbucks basically every morning before school to cure my Starbucks addiction.

"Here you go Mr. Barakat."

"Thanks." I smiled before taking the two coffees from Jess and begin to walk away.

"Hey Jack wait! Your change!" Jess yelled, I looked back.

"Keep it." I winked before walking out the door.

I heard Alex start up the car as I got closer, opening up the car door I handed Alex his coffee before getting into the car.

"Took you long enough." Alex said with a irritated look on his face.

"Sorry, geez." I said slamming the car door.

Alex pulled into the schools parking lot then took a quick sip of his coffee before getting off and grabbing his book bag.

"Jack hurry the fuck up or we'll be late!" Alex screamed at me like I was some little kid.

"Ok." I said as I quickly made my way off the car grabbing my backpack.

Walking inside the school Alex and I get a lot of glares and sometimes if we're lucky even some death stares, but whatever haters gonna hate. And it's not like me and Alex are total outcasts I mean we have a good group of friends... I think anyways.

I walk up to my locker which is luckily right next to Alex's. Alex and I don't have any classes together this year which sucks but I get to see him in study hall, lunch and in between periods, so as you can tell... God hates me.

"Alex!" I hear from the other side of my locker.

"Hey baby." I hear Alex say.

I gather my things for class and slowly close my locker to see Alex and his girlfriend Stella sucking each others faces off.

"Can you guys not do whatever you guys call that in front of me please." I said letting them know that I'm here.

"Oh hey Jack." Stella said with an embarrassed look on her face, "I'm sorry."

"It's cool. Just go somewhere private next time."

"But I thought you liked watching people make out?" Alex said.

"I do."

"Ok. So it shouldn't be sucha big deal then." Alex said before pressing his lips against Stella's.

"I guess not." I said even though I knew they weren't paying attention.

I stood there not watching them, but taking glances every now and then as Alex runs his hands up and down Stella's body.

"I love you so much baby." I hear Alex whisper to Stella.

I could feel my heartbreak a little with every kiss he placed upon Stella's lips, it hurt to see the love they had formed for each other, I couldn't watch any longer as it became clear that the man I love belonged to another.
