Chapter 18 - "Just The Way I'm Not"

I was getting dressed when I hear my door open, "Hey Jack, have you se-" I stopped and covered myself, I just had my boxers on, Cameron quickly looked the other way, "Ah, I'm sorry dude. I didn't know you were dressing."

"It's okay." I said as I waited for Cameron to show himself back out.

"I'll just go..." Cameron said awkwardly as he turned to walk out still covering his eyes, he bumps into Alex, "I'm sorry."

"For what?" Alex asked, Cameron said nothing as he brushed past Alex and went back down stairs.

Alex looked in my room and I was still standing there with just my boxers on, he seemed confused, "What were you guys doing?"

"Nothing." I said.

Alex just scoffed, "It didn't look like nothing."

I just looked at him before he turned and walked out, closing the door behind him. Dammit. Now Alex thinks I'm gay with Cam. I mean I am gay but not for Cam, he's nice and all but he's just not my kind of guy.

I begin putting on my clothes and such again, and when I was done I didn't even wanna come out of my room, I mean why in the fuck do things like this always happen to me?

I hear a knock on the door, "Come in." I said softly hoping it was Alex again.

"Hey, so you ready?" Cameron asked awkwardly, peeking just his head in.

I just shrugged, "I guess."

"Okay." Cameron said, he opened the door and came in, "Dude I'm sorry I walked in on you. I should have knocked."

"It's alright Cam." I said throwing him a half smile, he just smiled back and it was a bit awkward for a second before I got a text from Jenny asking if I was still coming tonight, I texted her back saying 'yeah' because I already told her I would and I honestly want to see her, plus I have no choice now because Alex for some random reason decided he wanted to go again, but only if I go he said and Cameron didn't wanna show up alone so they basically forced me.

"What is Alex doing?" I asked breaking the silence.

"I'm not sure. He seemed kind of pissed." Cameron said, "You think it's because I almost saw you naked?"

"I don't think that's why. I think it's because of Stella." I tried making sense of Cameron's assumption of Alex being somewhat jealous all the time. But inside I was smiling, because I knew it wasn't Stella that was making Alex act like that, it was me. But why? Could he honestly be jealous of Cameron and Jenny?

"So you guys ready or what?" Alex came in.

"Yeah." Both Cameron and I said.

"Well let's go. It's 7 and I'm pretty sure Jenny is waiting for you so..." Alex said before rolling his eyes, he lead the way down stairs then outside to his car.

We all got in and Alex started it up, he pulled out of his parents driveway and we were on are way.

"You think Tay and Stella are gonna be there?" Cameron asked out of nowhere, and ahh why Cam? Don't mention Stella. Fuck.

Alex looked sickened by the sound of Stella's name, "I hope not." Alex said before turning up the music, 'roller coaster' by Blink-182 was playing and that was me and Alex's all time favorite Blink song, so as always we sang along to it and things seemed less tense between us after it was over. I swear Blink makes everything better.

We showed up at the party and as aspected, people were talking and staring and it was pretty fucking uncomfortable.
