"Alright." Woody began, his voice lower than a whisper. His face was illuminated by the bright screen of the computer in front of him. Gathered around him were all of the new toys he met after being taken in by a young girl name Bonnie, who found him just outside Sunnyside as he was trying to make his escape.

"1225 Sycamore. Okay, enter!" He pressed the 'enter' key and anxiously awaited to see what details and directions the map would give him once it loaded. "Please don't be far. Please, please!" The map gave a small ding, as well as some directions and information about the way from Bonnie's house to Andy's. "Right around the corner? It's right around the corner!"

"Yay!" Trixie, the blue triceratops figured, cheered.

"I'm going to college! Look at me!" Woody beamed as he began to dance and hop around with joyous relief. "I'm a big toy on campus! Hello!"

Dolly, a handmade figure of Bonnie's laughed lightly at the prancing cowboy. "Okay, Potsie." The group of toys followed the Sheriff as he ran towards the front door.

"Hey, listen." He said, stopping just before he left the house through the animal door. "If any of you guys ever get to Sunnyside Daycare, you tell 'em Woody made it home!"

Dolly's face fell, twisting into slight horror. "You came from....Sunnyside?"

"But how'd you escape?" Trixie was astonished.

"Well, it wasn't easy." Woody chuckled to himself, about to explain further until the reality of Trixie's words came crashing over him. His face fell, contorting into immense concern. "What do you mean 'escape?'"

Pricklepants slowly shuffled forward, growling, "Sunnyside is a place of ruin and despair. Ruled by an evil bear who smells of strawberries."

"Lotso?" Woody asked, confused at how that nice, welcoming bear could be evil.

"The guy may seem plush and huggable on the outside," Buttercup, the stuffed unicorn, began. "But inside, he's a monster!"

"But.... How do you know that?"

Pricklepants turned to face the kitchen window, answering the cowboy's question. "Chuckles. He'll tell you."

Woody followed the stuffed porcupine's gaze and outstretched hand that gestured towards a small clown. He was perched on the windowsill of the open window, staring out into the calm night sky as he remained motionless. His face was illuminated by the sharp moonlight.

"Yeah, I knew Lotso." Chuckled began, his voice deep and raspy. "He was a good toy. A friend. Me and him, we had the same kid, Daisy."

He proceeded to go on with the story, remaining emotionless throughout. The emotion and life in is voice never wavered, always sounding cold and distant. One might say he sounded mentally and physically broken, even. "I was there when Lotso got unwrapped. Daisy loved us all. But Lotso, Lotso was special. They did everything together. You've never seen a kid and a toy more in love."

"One day, we took a drive." He then tilted his head further upwards, now staring directly up at the full moon that seemed to have a soft, blue tint. "Hit a rest stop. Had a little playtime. After lunch, Daisy fell asleep. She never came back."

As the cowboy continued to listen intently from the ground, he noticed Chuckles's fists clenched slightly, a very subtle action. "Lotso wouldn't give up. It took forever, but we finally made it back to Daisy's. But by then, it was too late. Something changed that day inside Lotso. Something snapped."

The clown could hear Lotso's voice perfectly, ringing loudly in his head. He remembered the bear's harsh voice when he saw Daisy had been given another Lotso bear. The words that struck a chord within him, Chuckles could recall them word for word. "She replaced us. Come on!" And when Chuckles tried to reason that the girl had only replaced the bear, Lotso became even more furious. "She replaced ALL OF US!! Didn't she?"
