- the next day -

9:06 am

jack's pov:

i woke up early today to the house empty, that's weird.. where could everyone have gone to? i got up and saw that sophia's room was half way opened and grabbed the door knob and peeked inside.

i saw y/n sitting on the bed scrolling through her phone, i smiled "y/n hey" she looked up and smiled back "hi jack" "where is everyone at?" "i have no idea" then my phone started to vibrate, it was a message from jeremy.

hey jack! just so you know we won't be home the whole day today, we decided to go to six flags so that leaves you and y/n alone 😉 have fun and no funny business while we're gone ;) remember she's carrying a child xx

pfff wow! i blushed and replied:

haha very funny! but thanks for the idea ;)

i playfully shake my head and look up at y/n "well since they're not home it's just you and me" i wink and she just playfully rolls her eyes as she gets out of bed and exits the room

"imma shower" she says as she enters the bathroom and closes the door, i go downstairs to wait for her until she's done. in the meantime i decide to make breakfast for the both of us since we haven't ate yet.

y/n pov:

i got out of the shower and changed into a white v neck sleeveless crop top with a pair of high rise jeans and my f/c vans. i blow dried my hair and grabbed a curling iron and curled the tips of my hair, i decided to wear light make up today so i put on some mascara with a little bit of concealer and some lip gloss.

i then went down stairs and saw jack cooking.

jack's pov:

i look up and see y/n coming down the stairs. "wow" i quietly said. she just blushed and looked down causing me to smile "you look pretty" "why thank you" she says as she puts her hand over her chest

*an hour later*

we finished eating and we were just sitting down scrolling through our phones. "so" "do you want to go to santa monica?" i ask since there was nothing else to do and i really wanted to get to know y/n more.

"is this a date?" y/n asks giving me a suspicious look "only if you want it to be" i smirk "i'm just messing with you" she laughs and smacks my arm "dammit"

we called an uber since the others took the car and it took us about 30-40 minutes to arrive, we got out the car and payed the driver. "let's go get in line for tickets!" y/n says as she grabs my hand and runs to the ticket stand.

the line was pretty big, it took us about 15 minutes until it was our turn "hey hows your day going?" the guy asks us, he looks to be about our age maybe a year older, i notice him staring at y/n with heart eyes? i suddenly felt a wave of jealousy.

"how much are the wrist bands?" y/n asked. "$32 but for you they're only $10" he says then winks. i look over at y/n and shes just standing there smiling awkwardly "can we get 2 please?" "sure thing cutie"

my heart starts beating fast, "here you go" "thanks" he then pulled a piece of paper out and started writing something then gave it to y/n. we started walking as she opened up the piece of paper that read:

my heart sunk, i don't know why but it hurt seeing other dudes hit on y/n, and i'm not really surprised knowing damn well she's very beautiful and attractive so it was hard. hell, she even beats ellie's level. at this point it's when i came to a conclusion

i have feelings for y/n. i mean who wouldn't? it was hard not to fall for her, the way she smiles, just everything about her was perfect.

"jack!" i heared y/n say when i realized that i zoned out. "you okay?" "uh y-yeah i'm fine" she smiles at me "come on let's go" she grabs my hand as we get in line for the ferris wheel.

it took us about a few minutes until we got on, and as soon as we got to the top, y/n started to hold onto my arm in which i started to once again blush "sorry, i hate heights" she says i just laugh and hold onto her hand.

she then lays her head on my shoulder "thank you" she replies. "i don't know what i would have done if i didn't meet you" "i didn't want to leave you out there.. on your own.. i couldn't have, i made the best decision ever" i smiled and looked down.

the rest of the ride was quiet. as soon as we got off i interlocked my hand with y/n, she took it by surprised and just went along with it and smiled.

"JACK!" i hear someone from behind call me, i immediately turn around and see ellie, y/n let go of my hand and stepped back as ellie threw herself onto me.

"hi baby!" she says as she kisses my face, "ellie... uh babe? hi?" i say stuck in words. "umm i'll be right back" i see y/n step back from us and walks towards the bathrooms.

"what were you doing with her?" ellie says and crosses her arms now looking angry. "baby... she's my friend and i wanted to spend time with her today" she rolls her eyes "well i don't appreciate her being all up on you!"

i sigh "ellie... we're not doing this again.. she's just a friend nothing more okay?" i say and kiss her lips but i don't feel that spark anymore that i use to feel. i just don't love ellie the same way anymore.

y/n pov:

i see ellie and jack kiss... i just sighed and walked away, i sat down at a bench and stared into the ocean with no emotion drawn on my face.

what was i even thinking? he only sees me as a friend and nothing else, i'm such a clown. i feel my stomach kicking again, damn this kid's kicks are getting harder and harder a smile crept up my face as i start to rub my stomach "hey there" i hear a familiar voice next to me.

it was max. the guy from the ticket stand, i smile up at him "oh hey... max"

"so you read my note huh" i laugh a little "yup" he came and sat next to me "what are you doing alone? aren't you suppose to be with your boyfriend?" he says.

"jack? he's not my boyfriend, and he's with his... girlfriend right now." i simply say

"oh he's taken?" he says, i can tell he's trying not to sound excited. "mhm"

"well since your here now and are with no one, my shift is over. want to go for a walk down at the beach?" he asks. i think about it for a second, i really don't want to just leave jack alone here, i mean what if he looks for me? screw it.

"sure" i say and he smiles at me as i get up and start to walk towards the beach with him.
