Jo's pov:
As Alex and I were talking, I started screaming. I closed my eyes and when I opened them again, Alex's body was full of blood and he was unconscious. I tried to calm me down and check Alex's pulse. It was very weak, I could barely feel it. I was very panicked. After a while, I managed to get out of the car and call 911. Half an hour later the paramedics arrived and took Alex. My baby was sleeping like an angel and I was horrified. A little while later, the ambulance arrived at Grey-Sloan memorial. Meredith, Bailey, Jackson, Callie, Arizona, Owen and Stephanie were waiting for us.

Steph: "What the hell happened?"
Jo: "I don't know. We were talking and suddenly Alex was almost dead." I said crying.
Steph: "Don't worry. Everything is going to be fine. Now let's get to examine you."
Jo's pov:
After they examined me, I went to the waiting room waiting for Bailey but she wasn't coming. While I was waiting, I was thinking of the day we had spent together. Suddenly, Miranda came to my side.
Jo: "How is he? Can I see him?"
Miranda: "Sit down please."

I understood that something was going extremely wrong.

Jo: "He is dead isn't he?"
Miranda: "Well, Jo, we fixed his internal bleeding but he has a severe brain injury. It's hard to know if he ever wakes up."
My whole world fell apart when I heard these words. I couldn't believe that our love would last for a day. Some time later, I went to the ICU and saw Alex. He was sleeping so peacefully, so I kissed his hand which was covered in wires. I tried to talk to him, hoping that he would response.

Jo: "Hi sweetheart. How are you? I know you might suffer from pain. Bailey told me that you will probably be sleeping for a long time. But I don't want that. Can you please make an effort and try to wake up? Please wake up."
I slept next to his side and the next morning, Steph woke me up.
Steph: "Jo. Wake up. You have rounds."
Jo: "I am off for today. Bailey gave me the day off after what happened." I said and looked Alex's face.
Jo: "He's still sleeping."
Steph: "Listen Jo. You must be prepared. Dr. Shepherd told me that only 4% of these cases wake up. Anyway, you should go home now. You should get some sleep and then you can come back later."
Jo: "No. I can't go home. I can't leave him alone. He must have someone by his side."
Something interrupted my conversation with Steph. The sound of the monitor shown a flatline.
