"but...you're my mate... Talia" he whispers in my ear quietly.

Rogue looks up at me, his face turning a bright shade of pink.
I stare at sting, i'm completely speechless.

"y-you're mate?" I breathe in heavily, "that can't be right, you're not mine.." I add, suddenly questioning myself.

he smirks and stares deep into my eyes, not breaking the contact in the slightest.
"you know..." he adds, looking me up and down, "I think you're the reason behind all this," his eyes quickly dart to the window, staring at the red skies above.

that can't be right... there's no way I could possibly do this..

"you're joking." I huff.

"not in the slightest," he clicks his tongue and stares at me, practically drooling at the sight of me.
I sigh once more.

"i'll tell you if you agree to be my mate," a smile forms at the end of his lips as rogue facepalms behind me.

"i'm sorry, as intriguing as that is, i'll have to pass."
he huffs.
did i piss him off..?

in one swift motion, sting is behind me and he's moved my hair from the side of my neck. His other arm wrapped tight around my waist.
i-is he about to mark me..?

I try to push him off me, but it's no use. He's using everything he has to keep me from going anywhere.

"Sting, I don't think you should do that," Rogue adds, "Gray will best your ass if you do anything to her,"

"mk, try and stop me," he quickly bites down on my collarbone, his sharp teeth drawing blood. I yelp as a patch of rough white scales appear on me.

I can't help but suddenly be attracted to everything about this man. His scent is driving me insane.
No! snap out of it!

"what the hell!" I push him off me, not sure how to even react.
"thanks for ruining my relationship," I push past him and walk out the front doors, angry as hell.

"you fucked up sting."
sting runs his hands through his blonde locks and paces the guild hall.
"i'm an idiot!" he starts getting pissed. "it happened so fast i didn't even have time to think about stopping, i'm not even her mate," sting continues to rage, but it's nothing like the fire burning everything to ash outside.

I run back to fairytail as fast as i can, trying to avoid the giant fiery balls falling out of the sky.

am i really the cause of all this?? I question myself, not sure what to think.

mad, because sting fucking marked me, or confused, because he's claiming that all of this is my fault. I stop short at the doors, pulling myself together and running multiple scenarios through my head of what could happen as soon as i walk through the doors.

I carefully push the doors open and walk inside. As soon as i make it in i can already hear the whisperings around me.
I head straight back and sit on a barstool, Natsu right beside me.

"why do i smell sting?" he questions me, "holy shit Talia."
"Shut the hell up Natsu I don't want to hear it." "where's Gray, i got some shit to fix with him."

"he's at his house."
I nod and walk back out the doors, starting my walk to Gray's.

I knock quietly on the door, waiting for it to open.
"Talia?" "oh my god i was so worried about you, i didn't know where you were or-" I cut him off.
"i'm sorry, i couldn't find you either, but right now i need to talk to you. and it's important."

he swallows hard, as he lets me in and we both sit on the couch.
"are you breaking up with me?" I shrug. As i'm thinking of how to explain what happened, he then notices the scales and immediately gets pissed.

"You cheated on me with sting didn't you." He glares at me.
"no! no that's not what happened at all I swear...Please let me explain!"

"I don't think I need an explanation Talia. You cheated, end of conversation.
I feel tears well up in my eyes as he harshly breaks the news.
"Gray please." I beg, not wanting to give up.

"fine. explain." His breaths are heavy and drawn out.

"it was out of nowhere, I couldn't find you so I ran to sabertooth because it was the closest. When i got there sting noticed me and started flirting, you know we have history, but I didn't expect this to happen!" I point at the patch of scales.

"before i could stop him he was behind me, using his dragon force to keep me still and then he marked me because he said I was his mate.." I looked down, my hands fumbling in my lap.

Gray sighs.
"I guess there's nothing i can do if you're his mate." he runs his hands through his hair, "we shouldn't be together anymore Talia, It's not good for you to be away from him now that he's marked you..."

I feel the tears well up again, but this time they start falling down my face.
"Gray please! we can work things out...It doesn't have to end like this,"

He stares at me, his eyes showing pain.
"Talia. We both know how this mate thing works. You know and I know that there's no way we can make this work. I'm really sorry..."

"but he's not MY mate, you're mine!" I start to cry harder than I have ever cried before. I just can't stop the tears from coming.
"I think you should leave," I shake my head and bury my face in his chest.

"please don't leave me...i love you," my words are hard to grasp but I knew he understood what I had said. His heartbeat picked up and his chest got tight. For the slightest second, i thought that maybe, just maybe I could get myself out of this mess, But i was wrong.

he rubs my back.
"im sorry, I really am."
I look up into his eyes as he leans in and kisses me for the last time.

my lips quiver, as i ache for his lips against mine once more.
"please Talia, just go..."

I nod slowly and stand up exiting his house.
I walk back to the guild, tears still pouring out of my eyes. Fuck I already miss everything about him.
I slide down the side of one of the back walls and start sobbing, not caring who sees.

he was the one for me. and I lost him...
