We arrived at the village and I looked at the wreckage of what remained.
"What happened..." Elizabeth asked.
"How ho..." Ruby began.
"Stop." Xuria said, "Ruby. If you want to feel bad for these people then don't. They don't deserve your pity. They are a cult that did terrible things with no remorse." She said.
"You seriously don't believe they deserve this?" Elizabeth asked.
"I told you all. I left the cult for a reason, and so did Sera. She took him and ran as they were going to kill him. He was no older than two and Sera was the only one against his execution." Xuria said. She pointed at the village, "These bastards wanted to kill a two year old and you wanna feel bad for them?"
"She has a point. If you can't stomach this then just head back." I said.
"Are you seriously..." Yang began.
"You heard her. They wanted me dead when I was two. They won't get any of my sympathies." I added. I began to walk towards the village with Xuria following behind. The three girls fell silent and followed us.
"Can we check on the children?" Xuria asked.
"Already planned that." I replied.
"Thank you." She sighed. We continue to walk and as we walked through the carnage the girls were shocked, but this time they kept it to themselves. We then began to hear the crying of a child.
"Wait... Is that a..." Elizabeth began. In que Xuria ran off to the source and entered a building. The three girls followed her as I glanced around at the carnage. I looked at the building and made my way to it. I walked in and saw Xuria cradling the infant in her arms. The crying had ceased as she hummed a lullaby to it.
"You are great with children." Elizabeth said.
"Yep. They always seem to love me." She said still focused on the child.
"What do we do?" Ruby asked.
"Xuria. Take Elizabeth back to Vale and go to the Orphanage." I said.
"Right. Xuria said she owns an orphanage." Ruby said.
"If you visit the orphanage you can go to it directly if we find any more children." I said.
"Okay." She said, "Let's go."
"Lead the way." Xuria said. The two vanished through a rift leaving Yang, Ruby, and I alone.
"Alright... Look for any children." I said, "They deserve a better life from this hell."
"Okay." The two sister said in relief. We began walking around the village looking for children. Though due to the amount of bodies littering the ground neither of the two wanted to go off on their own. Ruby and Yang called out for anyone while I checked inside the houses. I knew where they were but I had to keep that a secret. It would be strange if I always found them immediately. We found a total of five children and they all had the same brand as that girl. I wasn't sure if the infant had the brand, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did. I finally made it to the girl under the bookcase. We walked in and she looked at us.
"H-elp." She cried. Yang without any hesitation went up to the bookshelf and lifted it off the girl. I knelt down and lifted her up.
"It's okay we got you." Ruby said to her. The girl began to cry in my arms.
"What happened?" Yang asked.
"My mommy left me... She left me under there and ran!" She cried.
"Maybe she went for help..." Ruby said.
