I woke up at 7:00am. I already told Danny and told him that I'll be off work. I told him that we have a meeting with Axel's teacher then I'll just be stay home cause I didn't know when it'll end. We were gonna drive Axel to school then go in for our meeting. His principal insisted that the meeting be at the beginning of the day. So when school starts. I don't remember the last time I took him to school.
When I got up I got dressed, did my hair, and ate. I was wearing a Judas Priest shirt. Me and Lacy was in ground with me driving, while Axel was in the back.
"Why are you guys going to school with me?" He asked.
"Because we have to have a meeting with your teacher." I answered.
"Why!? I didn't do anything to get in trouble!" He was obviously getting mad.
"Hey. Calm down, you're not in trouble. Every parent has to have a meeting." Lacy said calmly.
He hugged. He went to his class room and we went into the office. We walked in. A lady walked up to us.
"Hello Mrs. Moore." She greeted shaking her hand. "Oh. And you must be Mr. Moore. It's nice to meet you. I heard a lot about you. I'm Axel's teacher." I waved back.
Oh my. She told us to follow her into a room. We sat at a table. His teacher, his councilor, his principal, and 1 other person was there. They all introduced themselves.
"Before we talk about any of these matters we'd like for you to know that we don't mean this in any negative way. This is just something you need to be informed about." The principal started. We both agreed. His teacher started. She got our a piece of paper and read over it.
"In class your son has been shutting down easily when he finds a task to be difficult, refuses to get help from teachers or anyone like that, and he finds it hard to transition from one thing to another. He has little to no social interaction, and when we all work in groups he barely says anything and just looks at something else barely making any eye contact." His teacher said.
"We've seen these behaviors with children in the past, and have much research before we called you in here." Councilor paused for a second. "I understand if you don't want to. But we feel like it'll be a good idea to test if your son has autism." She announced. Oh my god.
"It'll help me and all of his future teachers give him a better learning experience, and may help him with other things too." His teacher explained. Before I could say anything Lacy did. That's probably a good thing too.
"Thank you for informing us about this. And we will get him tested. Apologies for not realizing this earlier." Lacy said.
"Oh no. Don't apologize. We wouldn't expect you to get him tested, that's why we told you." the principal assured.
Soon we were able to leave. I didn't talk a single but. Not even make a noise. When we got into the car I sighed and put my head on the stirring wheel closing my eyes.
"I get that you don't love the idea of your son having autism. But we need to figure out what's wrong and get the help he needs. And you know that." She said. I just started driving. We got back to the house.
"I'm sorry. I'm not mad... I'm just I don't know." I apologized. She came up to me and started sliding her hand up my shirt.
"Don't worry. Don't apologize." She whispered. I knew what she was doing. We both started to smirk. "Remember what we're gonna do Monday?" She asked. I nodded and we went into the bedroom.
