"Stop!" Danny yelled at me to stop playing the drums.

I didn't realize that everyone else stopped playing right in the middle of the song. And I was the only one playing. I stopped the simble from ringing by grabbing it.

"You were speeding up." Jason hissed.

"Sorry. I didn't realize." I apologized.

"Whatever. I'm tired of that song anyway." Danny sighed.

I looked at the time. 3:30. Axel gets off school at 4. I pick him up from school on Fridays. And Lacy picks him up on the other days.

"I gotta go. Sorry." I said before leaving.

I'm the softest one in the group, and they make fun of me for that. Danny, Jason, and Matt seem tough and aggressive to most people. But they're not. They were there for me when Lacy got pregnant. They were actually hanging out at my apartment when her dad knocked on my door and held a shotgun to my head demanding a shotgun wedding. They're like giant teddy bears around Axel. We're all brother's from another mother. But Danny just doesn't get the idea of settling down.

By the time I got to pick Axel up school still had 5 minutes. I got out and stood by the car like a lot of the other parents were doing. A mom then walked up to me. Ugh. Socialization.

"Excuse me. But in order to be here you need to have a kid." She hissed. Wtf.

"Um. I do have a kid. I'm here to pick him up." I responded. In a humorous-confused tone.

"Ha! As if you think I'd beleive that. Nobody like you can possibly be a parent." She cooed.

Axel then ran up to me really fast. Before he could ram into me I picked him up, threw him up in the air, caught him, them put him back down.

"Is this enough evidence for you?" I laughed.

She huffed and walked away. Axel and I got in the car. He sat in the back as I drove, of course. I turned on the radio. War Pigs was playing.

"I drew a picture in school! It was supposed to be of your favorite thing!" He announced.

"Cool! What is it of?" I asked.

"I drew it of Silent Parade! You're with a drum, uncle Danny's singing with a guitar, uncle Jason's playing guitar, and uncle Matt's playing bass with a sad face because he's the bassist." He answered. Oh shit. He caught on with our bassist jokes. Damn.

"That sounds amazing!" I responded.

He seemed quite proud. I pulled into the driveway and we got out. He showed me the drawing as we walked to the door. It was stick figures. But it was still amazing. When we walked in we went into the kitchen where Lacy was. He showed her the drawing then we hung it up on the refrigerator.

"So did you invite anyone to your birthday party on Sunday?" I asked. He was turning 7. He looked down

"No." His mood completely changed. From happy to sad. Lacy and I looked at eachother then looked back at him.

"What's wasting honey? Why not?" Lacy asked rubbing his arm a little.

"Nobody likes me. All the other kids think I'm weird." He responded. "They call me mop head." He added.

"What the hell!? You're in first fucking grade!"

"Language Jay!" Lacy demanded. Pfft. "You're not weird. Don't listen to them. And uncle Danny, uncle Jason, and uncle Matt will be there. And Aunt Sarah and Gabe. So it'll all be fun." She assured. Sarah is her older sister and Gabe is Sarah's son who is only a year older than Axel.
