Chapter 4

(I linked the song I listend to while writing this above. I'd definitely recommend you to check it out if you like beautiful quiet songs. It also kinda resembles the content of this chapter...:)

Seconds later, Examiner Satotz started moving, and without any further instructions all 400+ contestants followed him. I dont like the Idea of having to follow someone somewhere unknown, I thought, now also moving my feet. Slowly adjusting my pace, I searched for Killua. My face did a weird thing as I sneezed quietly like a bunny, having my hair fly into my face from all direction. I sighed. Shit. I'm just not as good at adapting to colder weather than to warmer. Wiping small tears out of the corners of my eyes, I tied my hair up into a strict, tight bun, and checked out my opponents. All contestants were still in the game, although I saw some tire slightly. How long has it been? Half an hour at most. There were some weird creatures among them. I spotted Illumi, obviously in disguise, and giggled. What's that for? He knows I can sense his a aura every where and among thousands. Turning my head back straight ahead, I sighted Killua. Silently, and as careful as possible, I jumped, flipped swiftly and landed right behind my little bro. Slowly approaching him, I saw something rather unusual. He was on his skateboard, but next to him was a small boy, probably the same age as him. He had spiky black hair and deep brown sparkling eyes. Almost like hisok...No what am I thinking? I frowned and immediately repressed the thought. The kids eyes glanced at Killua with such kindness, that my heart skipped a beat. He is special. My eyes scanned him, leading me to Killua and to my surprise, he smiled. He laughed at the kid, jumping of his skateboard to keep up his pace. Finally Kill. You found someone memorable...

I sped up a bit, jogging next to Killua. "Hey little bro, I see you've found someone right there haven't you?" I said, smiling slightly. "Oh. Hey oneesan." He turned around, now jogging backwards. "Yeah, this is Gon. He's the same age as me." He replied, putting his arm around Gon's shoulder, making him tumble slightly. "Isn't that so cool?" His eyes were filled with hope and excitement, something I've never see in before. I chuckled, "Yeah I guess that is pretty awesome." I shifted my body slightly, now jogging next to Gon, reaching my hand out. "Hey Gon. I'm Killuas Older sister, Yami." His hand shook mine while running, which was surprisingly hard. "Hello Yami. Pleased to meet you." He laughed, smiling a million dollar smile at me, so bright, I'd have to wear shades. Holy shit.
I grinned back, noticing two creatures running towards us. I turned my head, only to see two guys waving at us. One was shorter, had blond, almost golden, hair and had something around him that reminded me of vengeance. Deep hatred, determination and sadness. Emptiness, that could only be filled by killing the one who caused it. The other...Well there's not a lot to say about that one. He was tall, had a pair of weird glasses on his nose, and looked as if he'd be at least 27. Near my age, but definitely not my type.

Holding his briefcase in one hand, and waving with the other, the taller one jumped right next to me, and told Gon to introduce us to him. The other just stayed behind, coming of as a little shy. Seems like their friends of Gon... "Oh right" Gon agreed, introducing us while smiling. Killua just looked at them, studying their every move. I smiled, shaking their hands. Soon after I learned that the tall guy was called Leorio, weird name, and was, as he claims, still a teenager. Although I didn't really believe him. The slightly smaller one, introduces himself as Kurapika. Even weirder name. Seriously, where do these guys come from?
They continued to run beside us, chatting about this and that. Gon and Killua were right beside each other, and talked as if they were best friends already. A warm smile spread across my face, as I watched both of them enjoy their time. But the smile didn't hold long, as I reminded myself of why Im here. Now dead serious, and back to my cold self, I picked up in pace, and explained,"Hey Killua, Ill go check the front out, don't get tired alright", and went of.

I cant get to soft. Just like dad said. Being soft and emotional just harms me. I cant let my old self get back to me. That's what I trained these past years. But now, with having Killua back around, its so damn hard. I want to comfort him, hug him, smile at him. I want him to feel save and welcome. But I cant. Thats not what an assassin does, I.....

I opened my eyes wide in realization, and stopped my thought process right there. Shaking my head slowly I told myself, quietly, and barely able to be heard, "That's not true. You're not an assassin anymore. You're gonna be a hunter. You dont have to be cold and icy all the time. You can love people. You can have emotions. It's alright. Yami...its...alright" Looking back up from the ground I was facing these past minutes, new energy flowed through my body. A slight blush of happiness blessed my cheeks, as I let my hair down, and ran into my new future.

—> TIME SKIP <—

Around 3 hours have passed, and more than 60% of the contestants have given up. I haven't seen Killua and the others yet, but expected all of them to still be in the game. Well, maybe that tall guy, what was his name again, oh right Leorio. He might've had some problems.

I also met Illumi halfway through, but didn't make an effort of saying Hi. Now, that my future is open, and my mind isn't foggy anymore, my head has another thought he wont get rid of. Or even more precise, a person. Him. Everytime I thought of his name, my ears went from normal to a deep pink, and my stomach felt weird. What is that? Why am I feeling this way? I exhaled slowly, still facing the stairs we were currently climbing. I'm probably just a little flustered by his aura...and his beautiful smile, his astonishing eyes, that make me quake Everytime I think of them. His body, not to forget his smooth voice...

I was so lost in my thoughts, I didn't even notice that we stopped. I bumped into someone unconsciously, and my head shot up. Mumbling thousand excuses and making hectic hand movements, I try to explain myself, looking around me nervously to check if anyone saw. As I face the person I bumped into, in order to formally apologize, I only hear the familiar chuckling. My head slowly tilts up, making my heart completely stop. The world went black, and the only thing I remembered was the stunning elegance of his eyes staring right into mine, his face blessed with a charming smile.
