Maven

Were back in Whitefire after a successful take down of that traitor Volo. Unfortunately that bullet didn't have the opportunity to hit Cal.

Note to self: don't trust the Lakelanders. Marrying Iris was wrong in so many ways; her father wants Norta for himself, I'm not dumb not to realise that plus she'll never feel anything me, deep down inside I know. I know someone who loves another because I'm that someone.

My espionage agent did well he bought pictures back to me. Mare looks beautiful in every one. I told her not to cry but she did it anyway. I don't understand why would she cry over him. She's worth so much more than him hence the reason I didn't kill him when I had the chance to.

I don't regret taking Mare instead of killing him.

I'll have her again and when I do I'll never let her go.

Unfortunately my espionage agent had not gather information about Monfort operations but really that's not the reason I sent a spy, the real reason is I wanted to see Mare. I miss her so much, although I hadn't told her in my letter she knows and I hope she misses me too.

I regret marrying that bitch now. I'm trapped in a loveless marriage with her when I'm obsessed and in love with another.

My spy kneels before me and continues.
"My King there's one more thing." He hands me a letter and continues. "She wrote a letter before she went to bed and its addressed to you." Without hesitation I pull the letter away and open it.

Dear Maven,

I don't want an apology from you. What's done has been done. You hurt me and now you can't take it back. Not mention, I never told you this before but trusting the Lakelands was the worst thing a King could do. You ended a useless war and people thank you for that but you can't expect to trust them and your brother isn't complete garbage, he wanted to find a whisper that could have heal your mind. A Newblood.

And one last thing: my tears are only meant for me, not you.

And get your spy out of Monfort or I'll send their fingers back to you.

Mare Barrow

"Go back to Monfort, get more pictures and be more fucking discreet this time! Your dismissed." I dismiss my spy with a wave of my hand.

A whisper. No one can repair the damage that has been done but then again I thought I could never dream again, I guess there's is hope but to be fair I only started dreaming again because I miss her.

Being King means being pleased with the life you were presented along with the responsibility of the title. Ever since I became King up to this moment I am not pleased.

Mother is gone her happiness doesn't matter because I can finally have mine and I want to marry Mare I can't believe I didn't do it when I had the chance. I let him have her.

I drove her closer to him, she and I both know the reason she keeps her brand.

But I can't believe she wrote to me. The ink is fresh, her letters are so carefully constructed. Its smells like her. Perfect.

Samson enters with a slight bow, not low enough for my liking.

"My king," he continues. "Jake Laris and Jared Iral are here to see you." Did I hear correctly.

"Jake and Jared are here?" I ask again, making sure that I heard correctly. He nods and continues. "I'll send them in." I dismiss him with a wave of my hand.
