Yana came running through the doors with beads of sweat pouring down her face . As her eyes searched the now silent crowd, they fell onto Kiara and Leo.
"He's coming for war." But before anyone could question her actions she collapsed as she fainted. Kiara, Leo and Cedric instantly stood up from where they were sitting to rush to her aid.
"Yana!" Kiara could hear Cedric scream but her mind was somewhere else. Thorn was coming. Kiara knew he would eventually, but she hoped it would be later, she just got Leo back and she wasn't planning on loosing him again. Rushing to Yana's aide she was drawn back to reality when Cedric gave both Kiara and Leo an odd stare.
"Kiara? Leo?" He said as he stared into their eyes. "Your eyes. What are you?" He continued as he back away from the two of them like they were unknown creatures.
Oh no. Not now.
Kiara thought, and Leo nodded in response. They had both complete forgot about their eyes and what they had become that even took both of them a minute to realize what Cedric meant exactly.
"Look Cedric ---" Leo started but was cut off.
"What are you? Is this one of Thorn's tricks?" Cedric questioned as he pointed at them. Deep down he hoped he was wrong, but he needed to know the truth.
"Just let us explain." Kiara butted in as more members or Yana's clan took interest in their soon to be King and Queen. "This is part of the whole bonding situation between the Power and the King."
"Leo?" Cedric ignored Kiara. He didn't want to believe this. He knew that if the two had made the final bond that Thorn would come even harder, stronger, knowing that what he had always wanted had been taken away from him. And then with Yana's news ... everything was just getting worse.
"It's true." Leo shifted uncomfortably as everyone turned their attention to the three lions.
"Where's Cecil?" Cedric asked as he turned away from both Kiara and Leo. "I want these two locked away. NOW." He oredered two guards as he left with Yana in his arms. Kiara nor Leo even moved when the guards came up to them, but Kiara could feel anger build up inside her. When she looked in Leo's direction she noticed he was almost shaking with anger.
Resting a hand on arm to calm him, she didn't want to make it worse than it was -- she turned to the crowd and searched for someone, anyone who might believe them. Meeting a pair of gold eyes, she saw a sad smile play along in their lips. She did what anyone would do, she begged.
"Tobias, you have to believe me!" She said as she started to walk towards him, but was soon stopped by guards.
"Kiara, trust me I do, but what Cedric said is also true. Prove that you are the Leo and Kiara I know." He stood proud as his words echoed the room as people stared at him in silence.
"How are we suppose to do that?" Leo growled as he tried to break free from the guards. It worked but more guards came and he was soon surrounded by twelve guards.
"Show us your marks. Only true sons of Abnu can have the mark and only the child of power can bare it. Show us your mark. " Tobias winked. Kiara instantly lifted up her shirt half way. She wasn't planning to look guilty. There on her left hip bone shined the eyes of a lion.
"It's fake!" Someone yelled and panic instantly settled in Kiara.
A fake?
Just then, Leo stepped forward -- obviously he broke through the guards -- and grabbed the person who decided to yell out they were fakes.
"You what? The fact that none of you believe her or me are the real King and Queen just pisses the shit out of me! I swear your lucky I don't just rip your head off here!" Leo growled as he through the man to the ground. "All of you should be ashamed of yourselves! Just because me and Kiara have different coloured eyes, you question who are?! If you want proof -- some mark isn't going to prove shit." Before anyone knew what was happening, Leo shifted before everyone's eyes growling and snarling at anyone who made direct contact with his lion.
Kiara watched in horror as his lion seemed to be ten times bigger than it was before -- and a whole lot angrier. As he started to walk towards the man that yelled out that Kiara and him fakes, Kiara knew she had to do something quick before things got ugly.
"Leo! Stop!" she said as she jumped in between Leo and the man. The room suddenly fell silent. As Leo's eyes met hers his thoughts instantly clouded her mind.
Why are defending the very man that said we were fake?
"Why are you getting so and over this? Look you don't have to hurt this man." Kiara argued with her hands up in front of the lions face.
Kiara don't make me hurt you.
"This is not you Leo. Don't let your lion take control over something so simple. We already have a war coming, don't start another one you don't want to finish. This isn't you ... This isn't the King." Kiara pleaded. As people around her shared looks of uncertainty, Kiara watched as the lions eyes trailed off as if thinking about the situation. Next thing Kiara knew, Leo turned back to his human self and she watched as regret took over his features as he looked at her. As someone handed her a robe, she cautiously handed it to him.
"Kiara I'm sorry I couldn't --" but he was interrupted as a siren went off. As the roomed filled with people talking, Kiara tried to figure what had set it off. Reaching the doors of the room, she swung them open to find black eyes looking down at her.
"Time to go Kay." Ryan said as he grabbed her from the crowed room. She tried to scream and get away but nothing was working. As she pulled away from the room, she kicked him the balls just to give her enough time to scream.
