Ch 11 The Day Continues

Y/N and Asher continued their walk with just recently leaving Ozpin's office. Though as they were doing so Asher heard his scroll ringing.

Asher: (pulls out scroll) It is a message from Yang. Something about how they are all in the library. She needs to tell us something soon.

Y/N: Well I don't know what it can be, but you on the other hand are more like her.

Asher: Don't look at me. I'm just as clueless as you are right now.

The duo made their way to the library. Getting there they scanned the area until they spotted the two teams. Making their way over there the two sat on their respective spots.

Ruby: You two finally made it, so who was the Penny girl?

Weiss: Now that you mention that it; you two actually sounded like you knew her. There was the extent to which you went through.

Y/N: You caught us in that we happen to do know her. Though we just recently met Penny ourselves.

Nora: How do you know this Penny?

Asher: Well as you may guess it's because of a hostage situation in our mission.

Blake: And how does she fit in the mission?

Asher: She was one of the hostages.

Pyrrha: That's quite a detail you forgot to mention.

Asher: It didn't seem important at the time that Penny just so happen to be that one of the hostages. Like one of those minor details you just include at the end.

Weiss: Minor details?! That's the opposite of a minor detail.

Jaune: I wonder why she did not try to fight  the enemies.

Ren: Makes you wonder the question of what  could be the possible reasoning. She must be a student of a different academy as she is visiting Beacon.

Y/N wanted to change the subject as he did not want to go into detail of the mission. He could not lie to him teammates, so he went to instead change the subject.

Y/N: Well maybe she didn't want to risk harm to the other hostages. I mean just by fighting there can be collateral damage. Anyways what was the mission you all were on?

The group were kinda suspicious by this act of his. Usually Y/N would go in-depth explaining things, but he wanted to change the subject. No question would be asked. Yang said something to her sister.

Yang: Before you even think about doing that I have something to ask. Ruby can you go get my homework from the room?

Ruby: Yeah I can go get it. I will be right back. Bye and bye Y/N. She says waving, speeding off to the room.

Y/N was glad that Yang took the pressure off of him. Though for the few seconds he thought of it he guessed that this is what the message was about.

Yang: There is no paper. I didn't even do the work yet.

Pyrrha: Why would you ask Ruby to go get this paper then?

Yang: You see tomorrow it is Ruby's birthday tomorrow and I have been preparing. I got the supplies but I just need help setting it up.

Y/N: What?!

Yang: (shocked but expression turns to anger) Are you telling me that you didn't even know my own sisters birthday?! I mean Ruby is your girlfriend!

Y/N: Look you already know our backstory. I just thought we don't celebrate these birthdays as the topic never showed up. I mean Asher's and I happened a while ago.

Yang: (her expression goes back to normal) Why didn't you say anything of it?

Y/N: Given the war we never had the time to celebrate our birthdays during our time in the UNSC. At most our comrades would do small gestures towards each other. Remember how I got Asher that curveblade? It also counted for a gift as well given how far I went to do it.

Asher: I guess I helped him get with Ruby so we are even this year. I get a new toy for battle and Y/N doesn't die alone, and it's a win-win.

Y/N: I would be mad at this, but then given what we go through I honestly thought this would be the case.

Yang: I have a plan for tomorrow so get ready. That goes for you all as well. Y/N will have his own personal part while the rest of us just get the party ready.

Y/N: Seems fair.

Asher: Alright.

Just as Asher was finished saying that Ruby came speeding towards the table. Out of breath for a moment she stops before talking.

Ruby: (gasping a bit) I...did...not...find...the paper. Looked everywhere...but...did not find it.

Yang: Oh yeah. I do not think I did the paper yet. Sorry Ruby.

Ruby: What were you all talking about while I was gone by the way?

Yang: We were talking about how Y/N was planning to take you out tomorrow. Right Y/N? Right as Yang said that she elbowed Y/N in the side signaling this.

Y/N: Ow! I mean yeah Ruby, I was talking to the group about taking you out tomorrow. Do you want too?

Ruby: (speaking too fast) Yes! WeHaveNot BeenTogetherAloneInAwhileAnd-

Y/N: Rubes. Remember what we talked about.

Ruby: Sorry. I remember not to talk really fast as it is hard to understand sometimes.

Y/N: Look it is not your fault. Just how you are alongside your semblance. That and you are clearly excited.

Ruby: That is because I am!

Juane: I feel like we are forgetting something. Maybe something about the time.

Weiss: That is because it is about to be lunch time. We need to go.

The group went about walking to the cafeteria almost forgetting about lunch they all keep in mind tomorrow's events. While Team RWBY, JNPR, and FireTeam Mystic would prepare for the party Y/N had a different part. Y/N simply just wondered how it will play out as this is one of the first birthday parties he will be in, and to top this off this is his significant other's party. After going through lunch they went about all went about the day enjoying it.

Timeskip just before they go to sleep

Yang: (pulls Y/N aside) Remember do not ruin this.

Y/N: Remember we both want the same thing. Though to be honest I feel like you have some sort of bizarre thing for me in this scheme.

Yang: You will see, but for most of it the plan will be up to you. After all I did plan out her party.

Ruby: What are you two talking about? Looks like you two do not want to be heard.

Y/N: This is just about tomorrow's day. Yang is giving me some pointers and stuff.

Ruby: Okay, well I'm going back to the bed.

Ruby left back to the bed leaving Y/N and Yang there back to the conversation. Waiting for a few more seconds they continue back to it.

Yang: Anyways good luck as I know tomorrow will be a good one. She says this leaving to her own bed.

Y/N went back to his bed while Ruby snuggled right next to him. It is not that Ruby's birthday is tomorrow that is haunting him, but rather to what extent did Yang plan this out. The thing being that he hoped that he did not ruin it for Ruby. Having to accept how it might play out he fell asleep eventually trying to brace himself for the events.
