Ch 12 Birthday Bonanza

Yang was not the first to wake but like always it was Y/N. Going up to Y/N she realized that he was awake still but could not get up. Ruby was sprawled over him so he was unable to move.

Y/N: (sees Yang) I'm awake, but like always I can't exactly move. Was Ruby always like this?

Yang: Hmmm...I mean Zwei was always stuck with Ruby when sleeping.

Ruby slightly moved in her sleep because of all the commotion. This allowed Y/N to finally get free from her grasp and get up. To avoid Ruby from waking he whispers.

Y/N: (whispering) That was a close call. Can't have her waking now can we given how we are planning her party.

Yang: (whispering) Yeah. That and you will be the one who has to distract her.

Y/N: (whispering) You and I both know there needs to be a good reason for her being away from Beacon. I mean it's her birthday so she would want to be close by.

Yang: (whispering) I know. I know. Just give me a moment.

Yang beings to think for a few moments before laying her eyes on Ruby's emblem. Going over to the other room Yang motioned over for Y/N.

Y/N: Do you finally know how it will be done?

Yang: Oh I got an idea alright. You are gonna have her emblem.

Y/N goes over to the table in front of Yang. He grabs the emblem wondering how exactly will this distract Ruby.

Y/N: (inspecting emblem) Ruby's emblem? I have to ask how exactly will this distract her?

Yang: (sighs) You have no idea how much that emblem means to her. Let's just say it belonged to her mother.

Y/N: AND YOU WANT-

Y/N catches himself mid-act and stops himself from yelling any further. He looks around the room to see that Ruby is luckily still asleep.

Y/N: Sorry. Anyways you want me to steal her emblem that was given by her mother?!

Yang: Yes, but can you blame me? Besides this is not stealing but more like borrowing.

Y/N knew that there was really no other choice as this was done on short notice. He hanged his head down wondering how will this go with the plan.

Y/N: (sighs) I hope that Ruby will not hate me for this.

Yang: After the surprise party this will all be worth it. (notices Ruby waking up) Hide the emblem, Ruby is waking up.

Y/N slipped it into his pocket before leaving to enter the bathroom. Getting ready, he gets out only to see the room is a complete mess. Ruby was running around the room.

Ruby: Where is it?! Where is it?!

Yang: Okay Ruby, what are you looking for?

Ruby: (frantically) My emblem! Have any of you seen it?!

Yang: (smugly looks at Y/N) You should ask Y/N. Maybe he has it.

Ruby looks at Y/N expecting an answer as well with the rest of the team looking as well. Y/N scoots near a window, grabbing Crimson Rose.

Y/N: Really Yang! Okay you see...Oh! Hey! What the heck is that?! He says pointing to the other side of the room.

All of them look only to realize that Y/N's best idea was to create a distraction, an odd one at that. This distraction being a success Y/N bolts through the window breaking it. They hurry to look outside only to spot Y/N sliding down the light pole. He immediately starts running with Ruby running out the room to give chase.
