You and Tae stood, staring at each other with goofy smiles on your faces. You were less than four inches from each others faces, and you could feel his heart beating under where your hand was placed.
You felt euphoric, and you had hoped he felt the same. Which he did. He was the happiest he's been in a very long time, and he couldn't be more thankful and in love with you than he already was.
You giggled, breaking him out of his thoughts. "What?" He mumbled, his cheeks aching from his smile. You tilted your head cutely, "You look goofy with a big smile on your face, TaeTae. So cute!"
You piched his cheeks, making him groan, "Come on, Clumsy! You're going to make my cheeks red!" He complained playfully.
You squealed and went for his cheeks again, making him hop back quickly, your body surging forward to begin to chase him, as your mother came back into the living room, and smiled at the two of you.
"Well aren't you guys just adorable?" Your mother giggles, walking in just as your chubby fingers finally got a hold of his cheeks.
You laughed loudly, and Taehyung snorts.
When dinner rolled around, you all goofed around, ate good food, and caught up with Taehyung. Everyone was happy he was back.
But you had an announcment.
"Hey, guys? Can I say something quick?" Everyone stopped what they were doing, and looked at you. Taehyung nodded for you to continue.
You smiled shyly, "Not to stray the conversation away from the trouble makers Taehyung met while he was away," everyone chuckled at your words, "I just wanted to tell you all something, that I think is pretty awesome."
You looked down for a moment, before turning to your mother, "Mom, I know you've noticed that I haven't been really going to see Dr. Young, and when I do go, I'm barely paying attention and I never really get anywhere."
Your mother sighed, but nodded,"Not only have I noticed, But so did Dr. Young. She called me multiple times to question your whereabouts and ask if everything is okay at home."
You smiled apologetically, "Right, well, I went to my appointment yesterday, and for the first time since I began seeing Dr. Young, I actually paid attention."
You grinned, "Dr. Young wants to try a new method with me, to pull me out of this so called 'little space'."
Your mother dropped her jaw in shock,"Pull you out? Wasn't the goal to be more accepting of it? I remember her clearly saying that this was a form of protection your mind created to keep you happy. Taking that away just means taking away your shield."
"She wouldn't be getting rid of it entirely, just so that I'm not regressed into that mind set 24/7 like I usually am. Sure I've been acting more like an adult lately, but that was because of everything that was going on."
You turned to look at your mother,"Mom, it's not healthy for me to regress in every situation, especially ones that stress me out. I need to learn to power through them on my own, maturely."
Taehyung sat, soaking up the information, as Seokjin spoke,"I don't like this idea, what if she takes it away, and something happens, and you spiral into a dark place, because you can't regress to move on from it?"
Taehyung considers Seokjin's words, "He's right, clumsy. If you get into a dark enough place without your safe haven, you could fall into a really bad place. A harmful one. We don't want that. Plus we love Y/N/N."
You sigh and look down, "That's great that you guys like her, it means a lot to me that you're so accepting, but did you ever think of how I would feel about this?"
You looked around with sad eyes, "Not once did you guys ever ask how I felt. You've asked how my regressed self felt, but never me. I feel like a misfit. I dont want to be different, I was to fit in, be mature enough to make decisions, be able to have normal conversations with an adult without them assuming I'm joking or making a joke out of them."
"I want to move out one day, mom. I'm getting older now, and I can give on my own, if I can't stay mature for more than ten minutes."
The woman stood, and crossed her arms, "The answer is no. I won't repeat myself. I'll call Dr. Young myself." You stood as well, "You can call her as many times as you please, I'm an adult, I make the calls when it comes to my life." You growled.
Jin felt his eyes widened as he looked at you,"Y/N I really think you should calm down for a minute. Think about where your mom is coming from." You looked at him.
"I have thought about it! That's all I ever think about anymore, but no matter how much I try to see into her mind, I can't for the life of me figure out why she wants me to grow up into someone who is dependent on everyone around me. I want to be able to do things on my own, without having to force myself into a more mature state."
You looked at your mother,"If you do call Dr. Young, make sure you ask her why this is such a good idea, and what will happen if we go through with it."
You turn your back on the table, and go to walk out of the dining room, but stop for a second. You turn around quickly, and walk over to Taehyung. You lean down and kiss his forehead, "Love you, get home safe." You mumble.
With those final words, you storm out of the kitchen, and into your room. A room you haven't slept in for atleast a month. You've been at Jins since Taehyung was taken into custody. You can't really say you missed the room.
Why am I so angsty? I hate reading angst but when I write that's what I come up with. 🤦♀️
