You froze for a second. "H-He what?" You said, shaking slightly. That..That was a big accusation to make, but you weren't sure if you could trust Sana's word.
For all you knew, she could be crushing on Taehyung too, and trying to keep you away.
"It's true, Y/N. It was all over the news. it was a twelve years ago. He was thirteen. He got the minumun sentence. Ten years because he had a clean record. A lot of people don't recognize him anymore, since he changed so much, but there are a few of us that have been around since it happened." Sana said lowly, her hands on your shoulders.
"My parents warned me when i came here, to be careful of Kim Taehyung. I had to fight hard to get here, because this is my dream school, but I was also afraid of coming. Who knows what he's capable of."
You began to get upset. Sure, maybe what she was saying was true, but she most likely didn't know the details, so how could she judge him so quickly? There could be a reason he did it, if he did it at all.
"Okay, wait." You started, falling into the place you rarely found yourself in. Big space.
"I get that it's a scary situation, fine. But i don't think you really have the right to assume he's all bad. Even if it did happen, i'm sure there was a good reason behind it. He might have needed to defend himself. We don't know. So please, don't make assumptions."
Sana blinked at you, "Why are you defending him? He's a murderer either way. He's stone hearted. You can't just kill a person." You shook your head, "No, that's not true. You'd be surprised with the things you'd do if you feel threatened. For Christ's sake, i almost ripped your hair out yesterday."
You paused, thinking about how to word your next sentence, before looking right into her eyes, "I get that, to a lot of people, Taehyung seems rude, and sometimes he is even to me, But i can tell just by a glance, that he's been through rough times, and he would never deliberately hurt someone unless it was well deserved. A lot of people say that no one deserves to die, but that's not true."
"There are some people who are so sick and twisted, that death is the only way to keep people safe from them. I've read articles on people who have killed others, even in prison, with a damn toothbrush, Sana. Taehyung is a good person who was put in a bad situation that was made to look worse by the media."
With your final words spoken, you turned towards your classroom, cursing yourself because you were now almost ten minutes late. You paused however, when your eyes met Taehyung's. His face looked blank, but with one look into his eyes, you could see the pain, and struggle of him holding back anger and sadness.
"Taehy-" He shook his head silencing you, "Shut the fuck up." He glared between you both, and walked closer, giving you both a deadly look, "You both need to keep your noses' out of things you know nothing about, yeah? Or i might do something you'll both regret. I won't regret it—" He turned a hard glare at Sana, "I have no regrets."
He turned and walked away, his form solid and stiff. Sana let out a shaky breath, "Oh my god. See what i mean? He's goddamn evil!" You shushed her, shooting a glare her way, before turning and running in the direction Taehyung ran to.
After running around the way you thought he went, you found yourself in front of the roof's door. "Cliche, but cliche is a thing for a reason. Overused." You mumbled, pushing open the door slowly.
You peeked your head outside, and glanced around, and noticed a body hunched over, sitting on a bench that overlooked the schools sports field. You bit your lip when you saw the familiar black sweatshirt over the boy's shoulders.
You walked over silently, and sat next to him, finally noticing the shaking he was doing. You sighed sadly, "Taehyung? Are you alright?" You were concerned, thinking that he was crying, you heart breaking at the mere thought.
His head lifted in surprise, and he looked at you. Your eyes widened at the angry look on his face, which was red with agony. "You seriously fucking followed me?" You sighed as he got up hastily. He began moving toward the door.
You got up in a hurry, and ran, blocking the door from his path. He growled, "Fucking move." You glared, "No, fuck you." You said, angry. You were on his side, defended him against ignorant people, yet he treated you like he treated those same people.
His face fell into a shocked expression, "W-What?" You crossed your arms, "Fuck. You." You jabbed a finger into his chest, "I stood up for you, i have been nothing but kind and accepting, i was even accepting of what i was told about your past, yet you treat me like i've spit on you, and called you bad things!"
"I get the feeling of anxiety of not being accepted, and the fear of people using you, or being fake towards you to try and gain something, but i just want to be your friend! Let me be your friend, you dick!"
Your body was suddenly pushed against the closed door, Taehyung's hands on either side of your head, his face was mere inches from your own, as he leaned down to be level. "I don't give a fuck how nice you are towards me, or if you want to be my friend. I don't fucking want friends, i don't need them."
He banged an open hand against the metal behind you, making you jump in fear, slipping into little space as your eye watered. "Stay the fuck away from me. Just because i have a fucked up past, doesn't mean i'll be friends with a freak like you. I've survived fine without anyone all this time, and i can continue to do so. Fucking Retard." He growled, pushing away from you.
The tears you were holding back began to slide down your face, as his harsh words rang in your ears. "Y-You're just like the bad people you try so hard to stay away from, TaeTae. J-Just like th-them, you're calling me names and-and judging me. You're w-worse than them. You're a h-hypocrite."
You sobbed loudly, and turned away from him, and pulled the door open frantically wanting to get away from him as quick as you could. Sana was right, he was evil. Taehyung just enjoyed watching people break. He enjoyed making people feel bad, and fear him.
You hated him.
