The figure stood at the edge of the field, its face covered by the darkness the cloak cast upon them. I somehow knew that I was meant to go to it.

It's not the grim reaper, Halle. The little voice in my head attempted to make me feel better. However... I wasn't so sure myself. The black cloak that billowed out, looking like the wind had captured it in its gentle grasp. All they were missing was a scythe.

I took a deep breath and moved towards the edge of the field. The feeling was strange; I wasn't walking, more like... floating through time and space. At the edge of my mind, I could still sense Greyson shaking my lifeless body. I could see Aaron was now also kneeling before me, looking crestfallen as several tears slipped down his face.

My heart lurched, wanting nothing more than to get back to them. My family.

But instead I focused on the mysterious figure that I somehow knew I was meant to go to.

As I neared the black hooded creature I slowed, stopping just far enough that I felt comfortable and close enough that we wouldn't need to yell, should we need to actually speak.

I wanted to roll my eyes at myself, knowing that I was dead anyways it didn't really make a difference what this thing wanted to do to me at this point. Unless it was banishing me to Hell, in which case I definitely didn't want to get any closer.

"Hello?' I squeaked out nervously, creeping a little closer when it didn't immediately move to kill me. I could sense its power as it vibrated the air around me, causing me to bite my lip nervously.

I could see the full, sensual looking lips of the creature behind the hood and watched as its cherry red lips turned up into an amused looking smile. I couldn't quite tell if this was Lucifer's sister or another lost soul like me.

Does Lucifer have a sister? I wondered to myself, trying to distract my mind from the terror I was currently feeling. I subconsciously named the she-creature Lucinda, accepting my impending fate as the being continued to look at me mysteriously.

I heard laughter in my mind. The full, red lips of the monster in front of me didn't move. However... I could feel that it was Lucinda's laughter inside my head.

I drew back more, staring at her with wide panicked eyes. I was sure if she was the wolf I was definitely the rabbit. My skin prickled with discomfort.

"My name is Akka, Goddess of Death, sweet one." The woman's voice purred in my head serenely. When my mouth opened and closed like a fish, she chuckled lowly.

"No, not related to Lucifer. He's... in a different department, if you will." Her voice was entwined with some sort of unparalleled pleasure at the statement.

"Why can I see you?" I whispered, knowing the answer but needing some sort of confirmation from this terrifying being.

Her lips spread over perfectly white teeth as she smiled at me, pulling her hood back at last. I inhaled a deep breath; she was utterly beautiful in a way I didn't quite know how to explain. Her features were sharp, her eyes a black so dark they seemed endless and all-seeing.

Her hair was as black as night and her skin a pale so light she looked nearly translucent. She looked like she was made of darkness, soft and subtle, and utterly deadly.

"Well, Sweet One, I'm afraid you've found yourself in between both life and death." Her eyes trailed to my forehead, which felt like it was burning for the millionth time today.

Her lips tipped up into a small smile. "But I see you've been fated for greater things. My sisters have blessed you. The three of us: Life, Death, and Spirit. The three Fates. You may have heard of us." Akka winked mischievously when she saw my face drain of colour.
