Mao Mao and Winter walked ahead of Adorabat and Badgerclops as they headed to HQ. "I still can't believe you were able to defeat that whole jelly monster by yourself!" BC and Adorabat watched in shock as Mao Mao kept fawning over Winter.
"Hehe...it was just a big adrenaline rush." Winter seemed a bit bashful as Mao Mao went on complimenting and praising her.
"You know, since you just moved here, you should move in with us!" Adorabat and Badgerclops both let out a gasp. Mao Mao was offering to let a complete stranger stay with them!? Permanently!?
"What? Really?" Winter wore a pleased smile. "I could use a place to stay....if it's all right with all of you." BC and Adorabat felt cornered. Neither of them wanted someone they didn't know in their home, but they didn't want Mao Mao to get upset.
"Uhhhh.....sure.....we don't mind...." BC felt a little sweat bead on his forehead. Adorabat nodded in agreement. She hated wh n Mao Mao was upset.
"Yeah! She can stay!" She put on a fake smile.
"GREAT!!!" Mao Mao and Winter went back to their conversation as they walked. They talked about hero things mostly. Different techniques and fighting skills. They also talked about some of their interest and hobbies. Badgerclops didn't like how he and Adorabat were excluded.
Mao Mao seemed really attached to this...Winter. Badgerclops thought to himself, "Could Mao Mao be.....NO....he couldn't be. This is Mao Mao we're talking about here." Not long after that thought, they arrived at HQ.

That night, Winter snuck out of HQ. She walked into the forest and sat down. She gave a low whistle that slowly got higher. A moment later, a tall, grey cat walked out from behind a tree. His face was on all the wanted posters in the country. His name was Greysin Willowmane. He sat next to Winter.
"Did they recruit you?" He glanced at her from the corner of his eye.
"Yes Brother." Winter looked up at him with a smug look. The sheriff was so impressed by me that he even let me skip his 'training'."
"Good." He ruffled her fur. "Father would be proud. Once the sheriff shows you the castle blueprints, the Ruby Pure Heart will be ours."
"Yes Brother. Ours."
