Clarke POV

I was alone at the clearing where Lexa trained me. I needed to clear my mind and relax. I haven't had the chance since landing on Earth. Plus the past few days has been hard since contacting the Ark. Telling Jaha about Wells, making sure Bellamy will not be executed for his crimes, explaining the Grounders and discussing peace talks. Not to mention making sure the guards at the dropship won't shoot a grounder. Some people I had to take away their guns and give them a different assignment.

Right now though, I am not a leader. Just a girl who wants to draw the landscape. I set down my bag and decide which angle I wanted to draw. I sat down where I had the pond in front of me and the trees behind created an entrance look into the forest. I wanted to make sure to capture the peace and welcoming presence of this area. Once I was content with my angle I grabbed my bag and grabbed my set supplies.

While drawing I lost track of time. When I finishing up the last touches I felt my stomach rumble. I looked up at the sky and saw the sun was at its height. I sighed and looked back down at my drawing. I should draw more. I deserve that. I laid back and closed my eyes. I knew I should head back to Tondc before Lexa starts to worry. Plus I was hungry but I needed a moment longer of peace.

"Clarke." I felt a gentle touch on my shoulder and jolted up. I had my hand on my gun before I realized it was Lexa. "Sorry, I did not mean to startle you." She was still kneeling beside me.

"No, it's fine." I finished sitting up. "What are you doing here?"

"You did not tell me you were leaving and when I learned you were not at the dropship, I worried about you." She gave me a small smile. Her face did not show much emotions but her green eyes showed her worry.

"I'm sorry. I didn't think I would be gone for long." I looked back up at the sky and noted the sun is no longer at its height. I must of dozed off. I began cleaning up my supplies when I noticed Lexa had my art. She looked so beautiful and I wanted to draw her.

"This is beautiful, Clarke." The way my name rolled off her tongue made my heart skip a beat. I couldn't process any words. I was too distracted by her. I just smiled at her compliment. Wow, Clarke, pull yourself together.

She handed me my art and we both stood up. I swung my pack over me and we started to walk back to the village. After a moment of silence, I decided to break it. "I use to draw more on the Ark. I would draw what I thought Earth looked like."

"And does it look like you thought?"

"No, it is even more beautiful." I couldn't help but look at her when I said that. It was true but all I could think about is her beauty. The way her hair was braided, her soft but stoic face, her sharp emerald eyes that showed so much care and passion, her sharp jawline, and not to mention her pink, plush lips that made me wonder what they would taste like.

She noticed me admiring her and gave me a small smile. Crap. I quickly looked back in front of me and felt my checks heat up. "You should draw more. If it is supplies you need, I can make sure you have plenty."

"No, it's not supplies. I have been caught up making sure everyone and everything is okay."

"I understand."

We were back walking in silence. As the village approached she broke it. "Have you ate?" I simply shook my head. She lead me to get some food. It wasn't much. Some dried meat and berries. I quickly ate.

"I need to go back to the Dropship. It is Unity Day and the Exodus ship is supposed to land later today."

"Unity Day?" Lexa was curious about my people and our traditions.

"It is a holiday that celebrates when all twelve space stations came together to make the Ark." She has a huge smile on her face. "What?"

"Twelve stations coming together to make the Ark. Sounds like the Coalition. Our people are more alike than we think." She smirked with that last sentence. "Do you know who is coming down?" She got serious again.

"Not exactly. I know they are sending doctors, guards and some farmers. Basically the essential to survive on our own." I looked at Lexa before I mentioned my mom. "I do know my mom is one of the doctors coming."

"Would you like me to join you?"

"I...uh..." I wanted to say yes but I have been a mess around her today. Why are you like this, Clarke.

"It is okay if you say no, Clarke. I will not be offended."

"No!" I yelled out and Lexa was surprised. Fuck, Clarke. Get yourself together. "I mean, yes I want you to come. I would like that"

Lexa steps closer to me, worry showing in her eyes. "Clarke, are you well?"

Yes, I'm just...stressed." I could tell she didn't believe me and I gave her a small smile to reassure her. "Let's go before it gets too late."

We made it to the dropship quickly. Lexa brought her guard, Gustus, this time. They were both receiving alot of stares. It did not help that most of the camp was drunk from the Unity Day Celebration.

"Hey Raven, any updates on the Ark?"  I asked her while walking inside the dropship. I saw she was messing with the radio.

"No. We lost contact with them. It's like they shut it down from their side. It could be solar flares blocking the signal."

"But you don't think so."

"I got a bad feeling."

An explosion sounded through the air. I ran outside with Raven, Lexa and Gustus behind me. We saw the Exodus ship. "The Exodus ship? They are early. Wait. Too fast. No parachute? Something's wrong."

Exodus ship impacts heavily with the ground, creating a mushroom cloud. I sunk to my knees. Mom. No.
