Lexa POV

"Pleni! (Enough)" I growled.

My generals were arguing over the Mountain Men. They kept shutting down Clarke with her ideas. It frustrated me. Clarke and her people have been resourceful when it came to the Mountain. They have provided more information then we have.

"I can't be in an alliance with these people." Quint said in Trigedasleng. "They are the enemy." He growled at Clark saying that in Gonasleng.

I glared at him. My hand squeezed the hilt of my dagger. A simple flick is all I need to kill him. However, I understand his worry. My people are still unsure of Skaikru and their technology. They are more like the Mountain Men than us.

"Excuse me, I need some air." Clarke left the building.

I waved the others away. Most looked at me displeased as they left. Quint, however, gave me a quick glare before leaving the room. I worried for Clarke's safety.

I left the building and glanced around the village. Knowing Clarke she would of walked into the forest. A guard followed me into the forest as I search for signs of Clarke. It didn't take long for me to find her path. Broken sticks and footprints lead me to her just in time.

Quint had Clarke pin down. He lifted up his hand to deliver a stab with his dagger but it never came. Instead he cried out in pain as my dagger pierced into his hand.

I kicked him off of Clarke. "Jomp em op en yu jomp ai op. (attack her and you attack me)"

"Thank you." Clarke accepted my hand to get up. I noticed she had a small cut on her arm. My blood boiled. I wanted to kill Quint for harming Clarke but he was not mind to take.

"Yu gonplei ste odon. The kill is yours Clarke." I said as a ripped my dagger out of his hand and forced him to kneel in front of Clarke.

Clarke looked at me with fear in her eyes. She pulled out her gun and aimed it at him. She hesitated. I knew she was strong enough to do it. She had to do it if she is to be accept by my people. Strength is our way of life and weakness is death.

Clarke takes a deep breathe to steal herself. Before she could take the shot there was a long screeching noise.

"What is that?" Clarke's voice was heavy with panic.

"Pauna." I stabbed Quint in the leg and yelled, "run!"

The three of us ran away from the Pauna, deeper into the forest. I did not know this area of the forest well due to it. My people always avoided the Pauna and this area.

"We need to hide. This way." Clarke lead us to a small ledge. As we jumped in, I noticed bones. She lead us here.

"Her feeding ground." The three of us looked for a way to get out. Climbing was not an option.

"This way." Clarke lead us up a few small edges before a loud bang shook the ground. She jumped in with her. She grabbed my guard and began to eat him. I grabbed Clarke and continued to run away.

The Pauna threw the dead guard to the side and began to charge us. Clarke fired her gun, stunning her. We ran through a door into another opening. Clarke jumped down the edge and continued to another door. When I jumped down, my leg gave out as I landed wrong. I needed Clarke to survive even if it meant my death.

"Leave me!" I heard the Pauna landing near us in this pit.

"No way!" Clarke grabbed me and pulled me into the door. The Pauna grabbed my arm and Clarke fired her gun at her again. We ran into a cage and Clarke grabbed my sword to lock us in.

"We are trapped." I sat down and Clarke began to tend to my arm. "You should've left me. Now two will..."

Clarke interrupted me. "Lexa..." Her voice cracked. She gave me a gentle kiss. "Neither one of us will die today."

I did not believe her. We were trapped in the Pauna's feeding ground and it would not take long before she finds us. Clarke must of noticed my disbelief because she gave me a reassuring smile.

After a few minutes of peace, the door banged from the Pauna. "She found us."

Clarke moved us to the wall by the door. "We let her in. Trust me." Clarke took my hand and I nodded. She reached for my bent sword and yanked it out of the way. The Pauna flew through the door and to the other side of the cage. We rushed out of the and Clarke slammed it shut. We ran out of her feeding grounds as we heard her banging and screeching in the cage.

"Clarke?" She slowed her pace to almost a stop after hearing the noises fade.

"We need to rest." I sighed to myself and sat against a tree. Clarke laid her hand in my lap.

"Why is your blood black? I've never seen blood like that." Clarke looked up at me confused.

"I am a Natblida. Goes back to the first Commander." I watched as Clarke's eyes lit up with curiosity. I gave her a light smile before continuing to explain.

"When a Natblida child is found, they are brought to Polis to be trained. I was grew up in this woods until I was discovered." I looked out through the trees remembering the day I was discovered.
