Lexa POV
Gunfire rang out across the field. Screaming covered the sound of our swords slicing down the Mountain Men. Blood spattered across my armor and face. I trusted Clarke got the door open and my army would soon be in the mountains. As I turned to kill the last man, I hear him scream, "wait!" I ignore him and keep approaching. The men that joined me to clear the hilltop knows he is my kill and do not interfere. "Wait. The president wants me make a deal with you." I hesitate. I want to destroy the Mountain but how many men will I lose? Will this deal save my people? Or is it just a last effort for the Mountain Men to save themselves? "Let me hear it" I demanded. The man hands me a device. It looks like a version of the radio Raven uses. A voice crackles out of it. "I'm President Wallace. I would like to make an offer." The voice pauses for a moment. "I will release your people if you stop attacking and leave us alone. I will never take your people again." I do not believe him. From what I learned they use my people's blood to help then survive. "What about Clarke's people?" I need to know her people would be safe too. "They are not apart of the deal. Do you accept? Or will you allow more of your people to die?" My heart aches because I know the right choice. I need to save my people but this will betray Clarke and her people. I look around at my men that are still standing. They are also covered in blood but they look ready to keep fighting. I see it in the way they stand. They hold their blades with power and their eyes show the hatred towards the Mountain Men. "No." I jab my sword into the man's stomach. This war is not over.
I wake up in a startle. I rarely dream of the possibility of the future. Usually my dreams are of the Commander's past. I look around my tent. I wish Clarke is here but she left with Raven to Arkadia.
I had to request Raven to leave Tondc because her technology was making my people nervous. Random noises kept coming from her tent and my guards kept requesting to destroy her tech. I want my people to trust her technology but I know it will take time.
"Heda." I heard Indra outside my tent say before she enters. I stand to face her. "Most of the army is here. We are waiting on Ingranrona to finishing arriving and Clarke to return."
I nodded to her. Clarke should be returning soon for the final meeting before we leave Tondc for the battle. I never enjoyed war. Bringing the clans together ended most of the fighting and I was proud of that. I know bringing down the Mountain Men is wise and what needs to happen for the safety of my people. However, I know I will lose many great warriors and that saddens me.
I ready myself and leave my tent. I want to visit each clan general and leader before the meeting. The first general I spot is Azgeda. Tensions are still high between Trikru and Azgeda so I should meet him first. As I approach, the conversation between him and his guard stopped.
"Heda." He bows his head.
"I am glad to see so many Azgeda soldiers. I did not expect Queen Nia to send so many." I wanted to know where his loyalty lies. Will he defend the queen?
"The Mountain Men affect our people, too. So many of our scouts have gone missing near the border. The Azgeda warriors are ready to defeat them once and for all."
I nod. "Good." A figure catches my attention. I knew who it was the second I saw her. Her dark curls were distinct and I could never forget. I nod again at the general and head towards her. She is walking towards the healer tent. Her confidence flows off of her with each step. I did not expect her to be here though.
By the time I catch up to her we are outside the healers tent. "Luna?"
