I was running trough the halls and I could hear shots being fired outside. Suddenly there was an explosion in front off me, making me lose my footing and fall to the ground. My ears were ringing and my vision was blurry. I blinked a few times and got up. I looked trough the torn down wall and there was a soldier with a shocked expression on his face, holding a gun that pointed towards the building. Great, I nearly got blown up by one of our own. I jumped over the hole and continued to run trough the halls, looking for Bucky. All I could hear were guns, explosions and my heavy breathing. Worry filled my mind as I thought of Steve who was out there and as I thought of Bucky and what could've happened to him. I was scared because who knows how I was gonna find him.

As I was running trough the halls, I could see a little, bald man with round glasses run out of a room. He ran off and I ran into the room. I heard a weak voice: "Sergeant. three-two-five-five-seven." I ran towards the table and there he was: Bucky. He looked so weak and out of it and he had a cut on his face: "Bucky?", I asked quietly. He didn't respond, his eyes just widdened a bit. "Oh my God..." I breathed out, ripping the belts that were keeping him down. He looked at me, confused: "Hey, hey it's okay. It's me. It's Y/N." "Y/N?" he asked, I nodded, a tear slidding down my cheek. "Y/N" he smiled, I returned his smile. I helped him up and put his arm around my neck: "Come on, I got you.". I wrapped my other arm around his waist to support him. He could barely stand. "I thought you were dead." I chuckled. He turned his head so he could look at me, and looked at me from head to toe: "And I thought you were smaller?"

I heard an explosion and as I was looking around, I saw a map. There were a few places marked on the map, so I studied it so I could tell Peggy about it when I got back. "Come on." I said, dragging Bucky along. "What happened to you?" he sounded tired and worn out. "I joined the army." I joked, gaining a little chuckle from him. "And Steve? How's he doing?" I looked around for an exit: "He's helping the guys outside." Buckys eyes filled with worry but before he could say anything I spoke up: "Don't worry, he did the same procedure. He'll be fine." He clenched his ribs: "Did it hurt?". I shrugged: "Only a little.". "Is this permanent?" "So far."

"Y/N?" I could hear Steve yelling down the hall. We turned the corner and ran straight into him: "Told you I'd be okay." I joked. Bucky looked at Steve: "Steve?". Steve smiled: "Hey Buck, good to see you aga-" Steve got cut off by loud explosions and the building started to shake: "We have to get out of here now!" Steve put Bucky's arm around his neck and wrapped his arm around Buckys waist to help support him.

We got back to the main part of the factory. Everything was on fire and stuff was still exploding. We ran up the stairs to cross a bridge to the other side, but when we got there someone was waiting for us: Johann Schmidt. "Captain America! How exciting!" ,He yelled from the other side, "I am a great fan of your films!" He stepped on the bridge and so did Steve. I stayed behind with Bucky. "So, Dr. Erskine managed it after all. Not exactly an improvement, but still, impressive." He said looking at Steve and I. As soon as he came close enough, Steve punched him right in the face: "You've got no idea.". When Johan looked back up, something was wrong with his eye. It's as if his skin moved? "Haven't I?" and that's when it clicked: he used the serum too. He raised his fist and Steve raised his shield, causing Johann to hit the shield and dent it. Steve Looked at his shield in disbelief.

When Steve grabbed his gun, Johan saw his chance to punch Steve, knocking him to the ground, his gun falling off the metal bridge. "Steve!" Johann came closer and I jumped over Steve, holding on to the railing and kicking Johan in his chest as hard as I could, knocking him to the ground as well. I went over to Steve and helped him up. The bridge split in 2 and started to move in opposite directions, putting distance between us and them. It was the little bald guy with the glasses. Steve and I glared at Johann, and he did the same.

"No matter what lies Erskine told you,", he spoke up, straightening his back, "you see I was his greatest success!" He moved his hand over to his neck. I was right. When Steve punched him, his skin did move because it was a mask. All 3 of us were staring at the scene in front of us: "You don't have on of those do you?" Bucky asked, not taking his eyes off of Johann. "You are deluded, Captain. You and you're sidekick pretend to be a simple soldier,", he said while throwing his mask into the flames beneath us, "but in reality, you are just afraid to admit that we have left humanity behind. Unlike you I embrace it proudly. Without fear!" He said as he got into an elevator. I took a step forward: "Then how come you're running?!". He didn't reply to my question, he just closed the elevator and dissapeared. Another explosion followed.

Steve looked around for a way to get out. He tapped me and Bucky's shoulder and pointed at a metal bar. "Come on, let's go up.". Bucky and I followed him up the stairs. "Let's go, one at a time." Steve said, helping Bucky over the railing. Bucky slowly made his way over the metal construction. My heart was beating like crazy. Explosions kept happening beneath him, causing one end of the metal construction to detach and move down a bit. I covered my mouth with my hands, scared that Bucky would fall off. When he made it to the other side, I let out a sigh.

Steve place his hand on my shoulder: "you ready." I shook my head: "but we don't have another choice.". I squeezed his hand and got over the railing. "Remember, slow and steady." I gave him a nod. The metal construction was creaking. I was about halfway when another explosion happened, causing the bar to snap in 2. I felt the metal dissapear underneath my feet when one end of the construction fell into the fire, taking me with it.
