Dr. Erskine checked if we could hear him and told Howard Stark to proceed. I wasn't nervous anymore.  Oh no, I was terrified. I had no idea what was happening. It became so bright out of nowhere and I had to squeeze my eyes shut. I clenched my jaw, trying to suppress the pain, but it was to much. I screamed, and if I heard it correctly, so did Steve. I could hear someone yell my name, but I couldn't reply. Then I heard Peggy: "Shut it down!". They called my name again, then Peggy told them to shut it down again. I couldn't let that happen. We came to far already. Dr. Erskine told Howard to turn it off. "NO!" Steve and I yelled at the same time. "We can do this!" I clenched my fists, fighting trough the pain. The light became even brighter (if that was possible) and I heard stuff exploding or malfunctioning, not really sure. Everything was turning into a blur and I wasn't sure if I could do this.

The bright light disappeared and then, after a few seconds, the pod opened. I was panting heavily. I felt so weak, but strong at the same time. They helped me and Steve out of the pod, supporting us so we wouldn't fall. When I looked at Steve, my eyes slightly widdened: "Steve-". He looked at me: "We did it." he smiled. Everyone ran out of the booth to see us from up close, Peggy going straight to Steve. She asked him how he felt. They continued talking, but I don't know what they said. I got distracted. Something weird was going on and I could feel it. Then I saw it: there was a man, holding a lighter and he looked at the booth. "Watch ou-!" I tried to warn everyone, but I was to late. The booth exploded and I lost my footing. I tried to sit up, but my senses were still off, my vision was blurry and my ears were ringing. This was bad

The man grabbed the last glass vile with the serum and then, shots. 2 of them. I looked around and saw Dr. Erskine, blood spreading on his white jacket. "No!" I ran over to him and caught him, carefully laying him down. The man ran off, but I didn't care right now. "Oh god, you're gonna be okay. Stay with us." Peggy ran after the guy and Steve ran over to me. Dr. Erskine looked at us and pointed at my heart. He was telling us to be good people. Then, he closed his eyes and I knew we couldn't help him anymore. "No, no no!" I clenched my jaw. "Y/N-" Steve tried, but I cut him off by getting up and running after the guy, Steve not far behind. He was gonna pay for this.

I got in the shop and saw that the old woman had been shot. I heard gunshots outside and I knew he was close. Steve was right beside me, Peggy in the middle of the road, her gun raised. "Peggy." Steve breathed out and he ran towards her, pushing her to the side as a taxi sped towards her. "I had him!" I heard her yell as I ran past her. "Sorry!" Steve shouted, running after me. I've always been quite fast, but I was even faster now, and so was Steve. I ran trough traffic. Sure it was reckless, but I didn't care. He wasn't getting away with this. "Y/N, wai-" I heard Steve shout, then I heard glass shatter. I looked back and Steve flew trough a window. He apologized and continued to run after me, or the guy. Not really sure. I jumped on a car and proceeded to jump from car to car, eventually jumping on top of the taxi.

The car started to sway and I had a hard time holding on. He took a sharp right turn and I flew off, hitting another car, then falling on the road. I groaned, clenching my ribs. "Damned" I mumbled while getting up. Steve ran up to me "You okay?" He helped me up. I nodded and grabbed his arm, pulling him with me when I started running again: "We need to catch this guy!" We ran as fast as we could and caught up with the taxi.

Steve jumped on top of the taxi, holding on just like I was trying to. Only this time, the guy didn't sway the car. Oh no, he shot trough the roof, Steve (luckily) dodging the bullets. I ran after the car as fast as I could. I turned a corner and I saw the car crash, doing a few flips. Steve jumped off just in time. The guy immediately got out and shot at Steve. He dodged the bullet again. Then he aimed at me. Steve grabbed the car door that came of during the crash and jumped in front of me, using the door as a shield. 2 more shots were fired and I flinched a bit, pain shooting trough my side. Some ribs were probably broken after the fall. Suddenly, a woman screamed: "No! No! Not my son!" The little boy yelled too: "Stop it!". I ran out from behind the car door: "Let him go you asshole!" Wrong move Y/N because he pointed the gun to the boys head: "Get back!". He fired another shot at me, hitting the wall, and ran off with the boy, leaving his mom behind, terrified.
