Y/n = your name
Y/h/c = your hair colour
Y/e/c = your eye colour

I couldn't believe my eyes. I made it. I actually made it. This has been my dream since I was a little kid and I finally made it into the army. I knew there were almost no women in the army (the only woman I knew of was Peggy Carter.) so when I walked into the base all eyes were on me. I felt kind of uncomfortable because of it, but at the same time I felt so so strong? Tough? I don't even know how to describe it. I was just so happy that I was finally here. But let me introduce myself first. My name is (y/n). I'm 22 years old. My hair is (y/h/c) and my eyes are (y/e/c). I am nowhere near the average girl. I hate make-up, dresses, high heels,  All of that stuff. People don't really appreciate that in this society, "not being a normal girl", but honestly? I couldn't care less.

I was walking around the base and not paying attention of course. That was until I bumped into someone. I stumbled back and felt a pair of strong arms catch me. I looked up and saw a man with brown hair and these beautiful blue eyes. "I'm so sorry miss." he said and he let go of me. I smiled a little "No I'm sorry, I wasn't really paying attention". I grabbed my bags again and that's when I noticed the scrawny guy next to him. He seemed really shy. "The name's James, but everyone calls me Bucky and this is my friend Steve." He ruffled his friends hair. I smiled a little at that and shook their hands. "Y/n, nice to meet you guys". You could see that the little guy, who's name was Steve, didn't talk much to girls. He was nervous. But so was I. I may be tough and I don't scare easy, but this? All these guys around me and looking at me? That kinda scared me and made me nervous and the 2 boys in front of me seemed to notice. "So you just arrived huh?" Bucky asked. I nodded. "I'm looking for my barrack." I handed my paper to Bucky and he looked at it for a few seconds. He smiled "Looks like we're sharing one. Come on follow me." and so I did.

The 3 of us were walking to the barrack and I tried to start a conversation. "So how long have you guys been here?". "Only a week." Steve spoke. His voice was quiet and gentle. "I had quite some trouble getting in." I smiled at him. "But you got in and that's what counts." I said which earned a little smile from him. Bucky smiled a little and rolled his eyes. He must've thought it was kinda cute how shy Steve was yet he tried to talk to me. He knew how hard that must be for him so he was kinda proud at the same time. I looked at him. "What about you Bucky?" he looked at me. "Been here for about 3 months waiting for this guy" he wrapped his arm around Steve's neck and messed up his hair. "Oh come on Buck really? Again?" Steve said while fixing his hair which made me chuckle which (in return) made Steve smile a little. Bucky walked into the barrack and showed me my bed. "Here you go." he said. I smiled and put my bag down.

The day went by and the 3 of us hung out the entire day. Training didn't start until tomorrow so they just showed me around the base and we talked. Around 9:30 the 3 of us went to bed. I stared at the ceiling. "Today was a good day" I thought. These boys accepted me. They didn't ask questions and they didn't make fun of me or look at me like they've never seen a girl before because as of now? I was one of their brothers, or should I say sister. I couldn't wait till tomorrow because that's when the real work would start and oh boy, I was excited.

~ Time skip to 6:00 am ~

I was still sleeping when the trumpet scared the shit out of me, but I knew what it meant: time to get up and ready. I got dressed and was putting on my combat boots when I noticed someone standing in front of me. I couldn't see who it was since my hair fell in front of my face (I still had to put it in a bun). I looked up and saw one of the guys from my barrack. "You sure you're gonna be able to handle it sweetheart?" I gave him a smile and nodded: "if I thought I wouldn't be able to handle it I wouldn't have signed up." I patted him on the shoulder earning a smile from Bucky and Steve and walked to the sink to wash my face. I put my hair in a bun and left the barrack. Steve and Bucky were already on their way to the training grounds and I joined them. Bucky smiled "You sure you're gonna be able to handle it sweetheart?" I nudged his arm. "Oh shut up Bucky." I smiled.

We arrived at the training grounds and everyone got in line ready for the training. Before we started the colonel came to check up on the "new" recruits (there were some older ones of course. Bucky for example). When he, some soldiers and the lieutenant walked closer I noticed something. Or should I say someone: Peggy Carter. I couldn't believe it. Apparently she noticed me too. She gave me a friendly smile and then, in a flash, she had that stern look again. The look that says it all. The one that says "I dare you to mess with me". One recruit actually tried. Let's say he'll never mess with her again.
