A week later:
With Angel on my hip, I carry her downstairs for breakfast, her little yawns are so adorable, as she cuddles into me. "Daddy, why can't I sleep longer," she asks.
"Because baby, we have a very important meeting I have to go to and daddy wants you to go," I tell her. She smiles and closes her eyes, "ok Daddy," she yawns and soon falls back to sleep in my arms.
I turn around and go back upstairs, even though my stomach growls in protest, taking Angel back to her room, I set her on her bed. Going to her closet, I grab an outfit and help her dress.
Afterwards, I pack spare clothes, because although she's potty trained already, she has accidents once in awhile. Afterwards, I pick her up and we go out to the cars.
Buckling her into her seat, she quickly falls back to sleep. I am as I close her door, and climb into the drivers seat. Cody soon joins me, grumbling about it being to early and not getting breakfast.
"Dude, your lazy," I tell him chuckling. "Am not, not my fault our....your princess kept me up most of the night," he says yawning, indicating a sleeping toddler in the back seat.
I shake my head, knowing she was excited for today, so she was up half the night, keeping Cody awake as he insisted I go to bed.
"I don't like how he looks at her," my wolf says, talking about Cody. "He's just doing his job," I tell my wolf. "No beta takes care of an Alpha's pup, like he does," my wolf expresses showing concern.
Come to think about it he is extremely protective of her and does spend alot of time with her. "Cody what's going on," I ask him.
"What do you mean, Alpha," he asks. "I mean, that no other Beta is willing to take care of another's pup and you willing do, plus your protective of her," I ask. "She's my ma....future Alpha, that's the reason and all she has is you, so I thought I'd help," he says.
"Mmm hmmm," I respond, not believing him fully. He hmmmms, as I turn on the music, lowly, so as not to waken Angel.
An hour later, Angel wakes up, "Daddy I hungry," she says. "I'll stop at McDonald's," I tell her. "Yippee," she cheers. I chuckle and so does Cody. We soon stop at McDonald's and we order breakfast and she eats willingly before getting her new toy.
She sits in the back seat, playing with her toy, as the music plays on the radio. "Daddy are we there yet," she asks. "Almost baby," I tell her. Cody turns around and starts entertaining her, making me wonder more about what he said.
"She's his what," I wonder to myself, I caught his almost slip up, "but what was he going to say, before changing his words," I think. "It can't be," my wolf says. "What, what do you think it is," I ask him. "I think that maybe she's his mate," my wolf says.
I growl lightly at the thought, not liking that it's possibly true, but there's nothing I can do about it. It's not like she'll know till she shifts and maybe not even then.
