Cody's POV:

I can't believe I lost her just like that. One minute she's standing right in front of me, then the next she dying.

My wolf howls in my head, as our mate dies in our arms. I don't even remember running to her, let alone pulling her into my arms. I can feel her dull pain, as she slowly dies.

My tears running down her bare skin, as I hold her impossibly close, hoping that our mate bond will some how heal her, but I know deep down that it can't, not fast enough to save her.

She links the pack, and afterwards her breathing stops, and her heart as well. I hug her to my body, crying, as I growl at anywho try to approach us.

"Beta Cody, we need to take her," says Alpha Josh, commandingly. Not having a choice now, I release her body, as warriors take her from me.

I remain on my knees, covered in Angelica's blood, as I watch them take the love of my life away. A feeling of emptyness left in her absence, my wolf crying for the loss of his mate, as I do.

Her scent lingers in the air around me, but quickly fading like she did. I place my hands to my face, letting my sorrow over take me.

I soon feel a pair of hands touch my shoulders, "she's safe now," Alpha Josh says. I shudder at his words, "she....she was safe before we came back," I growl and sob.

*Two days later*

I watch as they barry the love of my life, and I can't help but feel the hollowness I have felt deepen. Watching her be burried confirms my fears, "I'll always be alone," I think, "I know she'd want me to move on, and fall in love again, but I couldn't and wouldn't," I think.

The pack doctor did tests, after her death, and she was carrying pups, two to be exact. I was going to be a Daddy, but in one swift moment, everything I had and everything I was going to have was taken from me.

I watch as everyone places flowers on the soil, after her body was burried. I sit on the ground at the head of her grave, crying.

"Why do you have to go, we were happy, why wouldn't you just stay at Alpha Caleb's pack, where it was safe for you and our pups," I ask her. Even though I know I won't get a response, because she's not here with me.
