Cody's POV:
Waking up the next morning, Angelica is gone, her side of the bed empty and cold. I quickly climb out of bed and dress, worried about where she can be.
My trust in Alpha Caleb slim, because of the way he looked at her and held her hand when we arrived. I rush out of the door. I smell the air searching for her scent of strawberries and chocolate.
Her scent leads me to a door, I can hear talking on the other side but just barely. I'm not able to pick up on the conversation being held.
I knock on the door, and it's opened imediately, and Angelica stands at the door, smiling at me. Lifting my worries away, she engulfs me in a hug.
I wrap my arms around her, and take in her calming scent, as I place a kiss into her hair. "I'm sorry, I wanted to let you sleep," she says. "It's ok baby," I whisper into her hair, as I place another kiss.
Just her being in my arms, makes my life complete, like nothing can touch us, as if we are invincible, but I know in reality we are actually not, sadly.
She pulls away from my arms, making my wolf wimper, wanting her back. She looks up at me and smiles, before going into the room and sitting down.
"Beta Cody, you going to come in and close the door, or you just going to stand there, like a lot struck pup," Alpha Caleb says. I growl, but step in closing the door, then join Angelica and Alpha Caleb.
I pick Angelica up, and sit placing her in my lap, as she giggles. I want her comfort, and in so, is the reason for placing her in my lap.
"So as we were discussing," Alpha Caleb says looking at me longingly, before continuing. "We have three Alpha's in agreement that Alpha Markus has to go, and in doing so freeing your pack in the process," Caleb says.
"Do you think that your pack will fight willingly, with Alpha Marcus," Caleb asks. "No," both Angelica and I say at the same time. Angelica giggles and burries her head into me.
Caleb smiles, "young love," he states, "the Alpha's, Angelica and I all agree that the sooner we deal with this the better," Caleb says. I nod my head in agreement.
"We attack in the morning, so prepare yourselves in any means necessary," Caleb says, standing up from his desk. He reaches out and offers his hand for a shake.
I extend mine and we shake on it. "You are one lucky Beta, or should I say future Alpha, Cody," Caleb says, smiling at me and then looking at Angelica. I am looking down at Angelica, "that I am," I say, then kiss her forehead, as she looks at me smiling.
We then leave the office and go our separate ways, Angelica and I going out to the woods, to let our wolves out to run, since it's been a while since we've shifted.
