Cody's POV:
On the drive, I had no idea where we were going or were we'd end up, but as long as Angelica was safe, I didn't care.
She was going to hate me, but no matter what, I wasn't taking her back, till it was safe, our pack would find a way to make it safe, some how.
I knew one thing and that was, I didn't want her hurt or taken from me. I waited seventeen years to hold her the way a mate should, and I refuse to let another touch her.
I look over at Angel and she's resting her head on the window, her eyes closed, as if she's sleeping. She opens her beautiful blue eyes and looks at me.
Her look I of concern, her fun and lovingness gone again. "We can't you know," she says. I pull the truck over confused. "Can't what," I ask.
"We can't let it to the pack to figure out, we have to, he has my Dad, our Alpha," she says, "they can't with him in control." I look at her dumbfounded, "how did you," I ask.
"Mate bond," she says. I smack myself on the forehead, how could I forget, we can read each other's minds most of the time.
"We have allies, we can go to them for help," she says, "they'll help us get our home back safely." Looking at her determination, "I don't want you to fight," I tell her.
She smiles and takes my hand in hers, "I'll be their Alpha, Cody and so will you, I can't, not fight, to protect them," she says, placing her lips to my hand. "But I'll stay at your side the whole time," she reasurres me.
A feeling of dread washes over me, but I nod my head, "ok, let's save our pack then," I tell her. I turn the truck around and head for our closet allied pack to us, fortunately it's the furthest from our pack, but near enough to us right now, being an hour's drive.
"Alpha Caleb Mathews here we come," I say out loud. Angel smiles next to me, as she scoots close to me, and leans her head on my shoulder.
"Cody," she says. I look down at her. "I love you," she says. I kiss the top of her head, feeling pride as she's never said those three words to me, as a mate. "I love you too baby," I tell her, a smile on my face.
