They came back late. No one, except the people on border patrol, was awake. After each going to their own cabins, Shadow slept peacefully that night. The next day went fairly well, for most of the day.
"SHADOW!"
He ignored it since it was probably someone annoying.
"SHADOW, GET YOUR ASS UP! THERE'S AN ATTACK!" Ice's cold voice rang through his ears.
His head snapped up in a second. "Order?" Ice nodded. "Get all the Void soldiers ready in a few seconds."
She nodded again and started shouting orders. Thankfully, the soldiers were able to put on proper battle attire quickly. He transported them all to inside the barriers of the Chaos Castle. The battle was in full mode. Swords clashed. Daggers flew, occasionally hitting some White and killing them in an instant. Insults were screamed. Healers were seen rushing into the field, grabbing some fallen soldier, and transporting out. Blood stained the faces of many soldiers and Whites. He saw vampires there too, killing the Whites whenever they came too close.
The Void squad and Shadow rushed into battle. He could hear Gold yelling orders to scatter and fight. There was no pep talk, because no one needed one. They all knew what this was, and knew that some of them would die. But this was their war, and if they couldn't fight their own war bravely, then who's war could they fight?
He pulled his sword out, and clashed it with some White's. The White realized who he was that second. While the White was momentarily frozen, he killed him. His reputation was really something to marvel at. It gave him such an advantage over the ones that he fought. It seemed that his name naturally struck fear in all those who heard it. And seeing him in person seemed like a nightmare in the eyes of these Whites. He smirked and used his appearance to his advantage.
He went through the Whites quickly. He payed no attention to who he was killing. He just stabbed them quickly and made sure to not to look them in the eyes. The eyes always made you step back and think about your actions. And he couldn't afford to hesitate. Not now, not during a war and at place and time where he can get killed.
"Percy."
He frantically searched for the person who uttered his name. He wasn't Percy, he was Shadow. Percy was the past, Shadow was the present.
"Did you forget about me so easily?"
He came face to face with the cause of this useless war. He glared at his uncle, and raised his sword.
Order sneered. "What? Do you really think that a sword could possibly defeat me?"
"No, of course not. But it can definitely harm you," Shadow responded.
"Why would you want to hurt me, Perce? After all, I am your uncle. We're family," Order said.
"Because you definitely want to hurt me. Not only me, but everyone else who supports my father," Shadow said.
"But Percy-"
"Don't call me Percy!" Shadow said.
"But that is your real name, isn't it? It's the name that you carried for years, and the name that those traitors called you. That's why you wanted to change it, isn't it? Because those traitors had already tainted it. Those earth traitors that Chaos made you return to, " Order said.
"It's a mission," Shadow said through gritted teeth. "A mission from Chaos is a mission that I will complete, no matter of all the details that I dislike."
"If you joined me, I would never give such a mission. I would make sure that the mission doesn't bring back memories that destroyed you. I wouldn't use you like Chaos is using you," Order said.
