A.N.: No excuses. Well... I do have excuses. Correction: no good excuses
CHAPTER 15:
After the war was won, they all happily decided to eat dinner and got to bed. Dinner was quite, and no one said much. Everyone was way too tired to properly celebrate. He was happy that none of the younger demigods had been hurt, and that the war had finally been won. During dinner, no one exactly discussed when they would be leaving Earth, they just ate peacefully. The gods had also decided to join them, deciding that eating dinner with a bunch of petty demigods couldn't be that bad.
It was oddly... kind of them. Even now, gods barely gave their own children the attention they deserved.
It wasn't even three in the morning when he had been rudely woken up. He was about to yell at the idiot who decided that it was a good time to wake him up when he saw who it was. It was another messenger from Chaos. No explanations were needed. He got out of bed and told the messenger to wake up everyone else. They would all be going this time.
In less then a minute, everyone had their armor on and all traces of sleep were lost. They transported to the battle field, where the battle had already begun. None of them wasted any time speaking; they just ran into battle.
Shadow found himself fighting White after White. He payed no attention to how many he got rid of, he just did it. While he fought, he desperately tried to find Order. The last time Order had come, he had fled the second he had seen his father. So of course, Order had to make an appearance this time. Order might even fight his father this time.
When he finally spotted Order, he saw that he had already begun fighting with his father. The battling seemed strikingly similar to the last battle. They were both floating a few feet above the air. They both looked deadly. They were both fighting with powers, instead of weapons. And they were both deflecting the other's attacks quickly, neither hesitating because that usually cost you your life.
But this time, Shadow wouldn't stand for just watching. He wanted to join, and he would join. He quickly defeated the White he was fighting with, and started to make his way towards his father. Half way through, Shadow stopped dead in his tracks. This was a fight using powers, not weapons. He had promised that he would never use his powers again after the incident in the last Dark War battle.
A powerful ball of bright light hit his father, making him fly back until he hit a wall and groaned. Order grinned wickedly, and then started advancing on his father. His father tried to get up, but was pushed down by another bright ball of power.
Fuck his promise.
His father was in danger. If Order wanted a battle of powers, then he would get a battle of powers. His father mattered much more that a flimsy promise made centuries ago. He just hated Order right now. Order was nothing. He was cruel and terrible. His father was in danger. The whole universe was in danger if Order ruled. He didn't even realize it, but a glacier flew the air and narrowly missed Order, hitting an abandoned tower in the Chaos Castle instead.
That's how it worked - his strange power with ice. It was fueled by strong emotions, like hate, anger, and love. Mustering all his anger at Order, he sent another, much bigger, glacier at Order. This one also didn't hit him because Order was ready this time. This just made Shadow angrier. He sent another one, and another one. With each glacier that missed Order, the next one almost doubled in size.
He didn't realize it, but he was also floating in the air. His anger and frustration was solely focused on Order. And as his anger and frustration grew larger and larger, so did the speed of each of his attacks and promise of danger in each of his attacks. He didn't give Order enough time to attack back, just dodge. And each time, the glaciers came closer and closer to hitting Order. But what he didn't realize was that he had control over the water vapor in the air as well. And now, since his true power was in use for the first time in centuries, it was excited beyond measure. The raw power was just waiting to be used, hence the floating. The water molecules in the air were more than happy to carry him.
